| Portis Complains Portis complains about carries Washington Redskins coach Joe Gibbs is finding out that players have changed during his hiatus from the game. Clinton Portis even complained that Gibbs gave him the ball seven consecutive times in a preseason game at Miami a week ago. "Coach Gibbs thinks I'm a machine," Portis told Washington writers. "The running game happened to be going, but seven carries in a row? You get pretty tired." Portis apparently never heard of the Riggo drill, when Gibbs would run John Riggins play after play after play. Riggins never complained about it -- he wanted the ball. And Portis is going to have to adjust because Gibbs will run the ball if the opposing teams can't stop the run. "His tongue's going to be hanging out," Gibbs said. "Let's put it that way." I guess he'll have to get used to it...

| I remember reading an article about this and I got the sense Portis was joking around about all the carries, not complaing. |

| that's just portis BS'ing... like when he said ramsey and brunell were jerks, or when he was talking about how he was going to get 101 passes and how he was telling coles and gardner they weren't going to make the pro bowl because of him etc etc etc...
