Re: Hall agrees to one year deal with skins

I've seen an interview with D. Hall and one with Carlos. I liked what I saw. I've been hard on Hall but that's because I've seen him from highschool to the pros and in-between in college. I wouild like nothing better than to see him play up to his potential. Right now, there is probably no better place to get it together than with the Redskins. Our coaches and our PLAYERS I believe, are well-equipped to handle anyone that would become a distraction or put himself above team. He is fast on top of fast and 24 years old. I hope he has matured and plays well. What an AWESOME defensive backfield we will have if he does.

Hall wears #23, having bought it from Doughty.

Team - Washington Redskins

Interesting. According to this, he's wearing #32. Maybe he's wearing the reverse of his Oakland # (a la Randy Moss with 18 and 81) to literally turn things around. Or maybe it's a typo.

I saw that about #32 as well. But see him in a pic wearing #23 here:
The Official Blog of The Washington Redskins

Thank goodness it is not 21.

Doughty gave up 37 to Alexander. It appears he then gave up 23 to Hall. He's a team player when it comes to jersey numbers!

I wonder how much Ocho Cinco will have to pay if he gets traded to a team who already has an 85!

Re: Hall agrees to one year deal with skins

I was wondering why daughty kept running the ball...

I read the article and hall was saying basically he didn't like the raiders system because they play a lot of man coverage.

We play a lot of man coverage as well. This concerns me. We don't have a quick enough pass rush for a strong zone defense. QBs have the time they need to find the holes.

Good observation. One that is not made nearly enough.

Which article?, because the one that started one of these 2 threads stated that he talked to our DB's coach and he liked the amount of press coverage that we play.

And that's how he gets the picks and makes plays, by jumping routes in man coverage. I haven't read that he doesn't like playing man either.

Of his three picks, two were badly overthrown passes, and one was where the receiver fell down. I haven't seen D. Hall jump a route since 2006.

Of course, I didn't see him do anything in 2007 as the Falcons were never in a marquee game I was watching.

Actually, I just read it in the "... Chemistry Test" article where he talked about playing so much man to man. (last sentence). The only thing that I can fathom is that he hates playing off of his man, but would rather press him instead when in man coverage. But even that doesn't sound right when you read this article.

Quote:
"I just don't think it gave me the best chance to succeed," Hall said. "I like to make plays. I like to be in the end zone. I have to have the ball in my hands, and when you're playing so much man-to-man it's kind of hard to get interceptions, it's hard to make plays. I like to look at the quarterback, and when you look at the quarterback too much you get beat on comebacks and things like that. I was kind of suffering giving up those kind of plays to try to make plays."
