Yes, the 'Skins did sign Smoot knowing about the Love Boat fiasco, and Smoot's is a parallel story.

But the subject of conversation was the tolerance of Giants fans of misbehavior, in the case that of Boley...back to the subject, please.

OK, lets hit a little closer to home. Sean Taylor..........no saint yet the Skins saw that while he was young he might come around...if they could put up with some of his stupidity.They did and he did.....my point is Giant fans put up with being NEW York Giant fans....we trust the FO to do the right thing and our GM Jerry Reese has done a good job so far,so I for one while not sure about this guy trust Reese so if he says ok,well ....then ok.

Still, the Giants took a chance on a player with pending legal problems and that's what we are discussing. We are not discussing Fred Smoot or the late Sean Taylor. Your player is being suspended for one game and not Smoot.

I'm sure if I were on a Giants board, the same thing would be discussed if Albert Haynesworth was being suspended (but he's not).

What I don't like is how Boley's legal issues didn't receive much mention while he was a free agent. He was listed as a pretty high prospect on many sites but I don't remember seeing anything about this stuff. Obviously GM's and franchise decision-makers would be aware cuz it's there job to know, but I don't like the "missing" info just from my own perspective. I wouldn't have considered Boley as a guy to look at knowing this...despite what giantone and whoever else may think/say i think we keep a pretty damn clean organization and personally i'm proud of the skins for not making this kind of news the vast majority of the time.

Good point, but the Giants played us the 2nd game at FedEx without Burress and we got drilled. I sure hope we play much better opening game this season then last year.

My point by this statement was that you defended your player and your team by bringing up what you thought was a similar situation that happened here with the Redskins. I don't remember the exact details of the Smoot situation, but I do remember that the Boat Scandal happened wayy before he re-signed with the Redskins; so it is not the exact situation. So I don't know what was your point in bringing this up other than to deflect the discussion.

You mentioned later on something along the lines that "this happens with every team in the NFL" and that we "shouldn't get on our high horses". Well, I don't know what else you would expect from a Redskins board. Like I said, I'm sure if Haynesworth were to be suspended, people in a Giants forum would be saying that the Redskins were stupid to bring in someone with a questionable past or that the Redskins fans are accepting this type of behavior.

I think you have some good posts on this site, but I'm always wondering why you tend to act surprised when someone says something negative about your team, since once again this is a Redskins forum.

My response was to Buster post #26.The Boat scandel was the previous season as is Boley situation.Ruhskins I understand but the Smoot situation and this are similar alittle but anyway my point was to buster when he said the Giant fans accept this bevaior,if as a fan I disagree with this move what do I do,what does a Redskin fan do when they bring Smoot back and you don't agree with it.........what are the options,you guys sending your tickets back?
