| Re: Vinny tips his hand on the final 53 I get your point. But the topic is about the final 53 and there will be some 3rd and 4th strings on the final roster....

| Re: Vinny tips his hand on the final 53 Alridge is a nice player but prone to the injury bug going back to his days in Denver. Mason might not excel at ST playing, but can hit the hole better than all the others.

| Re: Vinny tips his hand on the final 53 What ever happened to DORSEY, everyone on here skips right over him to promote Mason and Aldridge?

| Re: Vinny tips his hand on the final 53 LOL. And that is the most hilarious thing about this whole final RB slot. Rock will get the touches before any 4th RB. THe 4th RB will have to make the team base don special teams and that is why I think Mason fails to crack the roster.

| Re: Vinny tips his hand on the final 53 I think that if an Aldridge makes it, he will play before we ever see Cartight. It is realy not a joke. They want a change of pace back that can take it to the house with break away speed. Thats why they brought those guys in. Cartright is another Clinton and Betts, just much less effective. |

| Re: Vinny tips his hand on the final 53 Dorsey could be the pick. I think Alridge has more talent myself but Dorsey may be the safer pick as Lotus has suggested. Dorsey fits the bill as a change of pace back and seems to have less of an injury history than Alridge. He has a step up on Mason too as far as a returner on teams.

| Re: Vinny tips his hand on the final 53 I've posied that they might choose to replace Rock with a combination of players, but that seems almost silly. I think Rock is pretty safe. As are Betts and Portis. This seems like a simple four man race for a roster spot. Mason/Alridge/Dorsey/E. Williams. And I think that it will be Mason, of the bunch. But he has no right to that spot, I just think he's the leader of the four. And I think whoever gets it, becomes the 3rd RB, when they happen to be active. But Rock will have a stronger holding on his roster spot than Mason/Alridge/Dorsey. Do not discount the possibility that the 3rd RB will come from another team's roster after cutdown day. It's probably 60-40% that Mason/Alridge/Dorsey make it to opening day.

| Re: Vinny tips his hand on the final 53 Aside from Vinny almost assuring that Mason/Aldridge/Dorsey would make the roster, he and Zorn both indicated that there are some veteran(s) who may be cut that will really surprise a lot of fans. I'm thinking this could be referring to some combination of Wynn/Cartwright/Betts.

I also am bewildered by the love for Alridge. He was a stud on one drive but otherwise has not shown anything but the ability to be hurt and to fumble on the rare occasions when he does practice.

| Re: Vinny tips his hand on the final 53 I think the thing that is going to bother me when we do make these cuts, is when some crazy yahoos are going to be ranting about how the team is going down the shitter....and all because we cut some 3rd or 4th stringer.

We're clearly not watching the same team, the Redskins have been one of the better punt and kick coverage teams in recent years. That's directly attributable to guys like Rock, James Thrash, and Khary Campbell. Your opinion on Rock is so far in the minority that it's not even worth debating anymore. Come back to reality a little bit, study up the numbers some, and maybe we can continue the conversation. | |

| Re: Vinny tips his hand on the final 53 It's going to be like last year at RB: Portis Betts Sellers Cartwright Cartwright has done nothing to lose his job and is great at ST (KO returns), the only way another RB makes the team is if they take from another roster spot say WR like Randle-El or Renaldo Wynn. Unfortunately we just don't have the room for such talented RB's in the roster, it really is a shame. I guess the development of Devin Thomas in KO could also be a sign that they are thinking of replacing the Rock, but I don't know if Thomas is fully trusted just yet for that role.
