Re: Who would you get rid of for 2010?

Dyna, I agree with you in regards to Moss and Portis but my concern is that Portis with his closeness with DS. I wonder how much pull Portis has when he goes to DS with a complaint and why DS allows it. I don't care who we bring in as HC I would be scared that if Portis is not happy Portis will go to DS and complain and DS will find a way to make things right. Instead of telling him to listen to his HC.

My issue with Moss is he is, I feel he is on the decline. The last few yrs he has some sort of injury keeping him out of games, He has shown signs of giving up on his routes when he thinks the play should be over in his head. If I kept him it would be as a #2 or #3 WR to create a miss match against second and third tier CB's plus not over using him every game.

Agreed. Did you read that article in the news feed about Portis and Sellers getting into about Portis feeling that Sellers isn't blocking well enough for him?

When it rains in DC, it pours, eh?

Re: Who would you get rid of for 2010?

i need we need to clear our cap in 2010. With the new cba that will be in place after 2010 it will be harder to have big numbers on the contract. Being an uncapped year, it will be best to do it this year. I am not stupid and know next to none of this will actually happen, but if we we can for cap reasons trade haynesworth (and maybe hall, but I think he might be too important to get rid of) and get rid of portis I think it will be extremely beneficial. I think we need to scrap our team and start anew. I think we need to draft a qb next year and get rid of campbell. I think our team is a joke as it is, and we need to start over which we won't be able to do unless we free up some cap space. This is because we don't have enough young talent to build purely through the draft, so we will need to pick up some key (young) free agents to help us along.

And Portis isn't running well this season. Kinda a case of the pot calling the kettle black, IMO. (And yes, the line has something to do with that)

Report said that Portis wanted Sellers pulled during the Bucs game, which I think is kinda shitty.

Thomas and Kelly have fallen victum to the same fate as Desmond Howard. He came here when we had Clark, Monk and Sanders, wrong place, wrong time. They come here with Moss Cooley & Randle El, thus their growth has been stunted.

Players that have worn out their usefullness:
Daniels, Wynn, Smoot, Cartwright, Betts & Rabach. There may be more by season's end.

As much as i dislike JC, i hope we use first pick for OL. Landry can improve and is still young, on the fence about seeing what we can get for him.
With the skins it's hard to tell the play calling is so predictable it's a shame. We always motion to the side we run the ball too and we rarely of any run the ball to the right side. So i believe until we get some good o-line talent you can't tell with Portis just yet.

I agree with most you said, but its plain fact this season that when he has a hole he cant get through. And this might sound crazy, but now the way he runs with both arms wrapped around the football is why he always seems to be off balance. Call me crazy he just not running right.

Re: Who would you get rid of for 2010?

Betts, Rock, Daniels, Smoot, Collins

Betts not productive anymore. Will probably be 31 next year.
Rock is not a difference maker will be 31 next year. DT can take his place.
Daniels getting old. Need to let some young guys get a chance so we can build our D-line for the future.
Smoot - If Barnes and Tryon develop. He is on the decline.
Collins - Old - If we get rid of him we could sign JC as a backup (why? it will be a uncapped seson - depends on if we are still running the WCO and how he does the rest of the year) and bring in or draft another QB and have Colt as the 3rd QB.

How would it take the average QB to master a 700 page playbook? Answer is years and TC was in that system in KC for years. C'mon man you know as well as i know that the playbook expand when he came in for those 4 games. So that made a big difference Saunders had more confidence in him because he spent more time in his system than JC. I don't think folks really understand how hard it is to be a NFL QB. Moreless, a NFL QB that changes systems every year or so. Imagine have to learn the position of QB and a whole new system at once repeatedly. The growing pains for that individual is a lot longer then others. Stability is the key to success in running an organization which we haven't that the last pass 10 year.

Your right and they wont ever understand it and they don't want to understand it. Remember JC is the worst QB ever..lol [end sarcasm]

He is not the best QB but he isn't Heath Shuler!! I remember someone saying no one will sign him. I would put money that someone will. Whether he gets the starting job or not who knows. But he is no Ryan Leaf or Jamarcus Russell that's for sure. Radiers would snatch him up in a heartbeat and some other teams. But people love to hate JC for some reason. I could understand if he was absolutely horrible and a asshole. But he is neither one of those.

yeah i don't how much those bone spurs have to do with it. especially with them bringing in so many RB's to workout and all. I do agree he has lost something not sure if he has lost everything yet.

Trade Haynesworth??? Not gonna happen. Its not like he is playing bad. Dan would still have to pay all the guaranteed money and he wouldn't do that. I also think if next year is uncapped I think his contract was done so a lot of the cap hit would be absorbed next year.
