Jason Campbell Says He Blacked Out After Hit on Final Drive

I think Campbell these past few weeks has played the way many (including Snyder and Cerrato) have wanted him to play for a long time now. And that's without excuses. Yeah things aren't great around him. But the best QBs don't just succumb to the situation and say "oh well. them's the breaks." No, they go out there and make plays and play with the idea of "I'm the QB. This is my team. And if I have to make things happen then I will." Case in point-that pass to DT on I believe 3rd down

A new QB isn't going to fix all of the problems. We know that. But I wish people around here would stop acting like if JC has a great line he's going to become a top QB. He's simply not ever going to be a top QB that can win a game for us. It's the same old things....Can't make accurate throws consistently, can't look off defenders, scared to throw downfield, skiddish in the pocket and so on. The last play on offense yesterday sums up JC. Game on the line and he throws it in the dirt.

^ drafting a qb has to be the number 1 need for any franchise... I know we need oline and we will address it with a new coach but we must draft either Bradford or clausen IMO.. Qb don't grow on trees and the only true star ol is Russell okung and he may be a top 2 pick .. Cle or det won't let him go

He doesn't need to be a "top QB" to win games. He does however need a better supporting cast, and that starts with the line.

Do you get deja vu a lot, Matt? Because this point has probably been made by dozens of posters for well over a year now.

Jason barely has time on 3 step drops and the anti-Campbell people think he is the reason we are 3 and 8.

He is not perfect. He makes bad throws and he hesitates too much. But who wouldn't hesitate when every other play a 260 to 300 pounder is going to flatten you.

I thought Trent Cole was our fullback yesterday.

He doesn't have to be a top 5 QB but you have to be able to go out and win games for your team. He can't. Sorry to say, he can't. It's not a thing abotu the O-Line because when we had an O-Line and went 6-2 he did what ? NO-****ing-Thing. He didn't throw a pick but he had 6, yes count them 6 touchdowns. HE doesn't make the people around him better, we constantly ask everyone else to make him better. That cannot be the question about a 5 year veteran in the league. I understand that he hasn't started for all 5 years. Just 4 years so far on his way to 4 1/2. The problem with Jason as a QB is that he hasn't had to earn a thing. He was given his position when he got here, when Todd Collins took this team to the playoffs he didn't even have chance to battle for that position. Jason has always been safe. We should've given him the Vince Young treatment 2 years ago after Todd took us to the postseason. If Joe Gibbs is back that next year Jason NEVER sees the field before midseason that year. I hope you all have the same excuses ready for when he goes and stinks it up somewhere else next year.

I have thought about it and I firmly believe that Carolina would have been in the Super Bowl if not won it with Campbell last year.

He would be a perfect fit for them and they have an excellent offensive line.

How is he going to get the ball to Steve Smith ? The man RARELY completes deep throws. That's how they won last year. He and many people here already complain that his receivers are too short. Find another one.

Unlike Steve Smith, our receivers do not go and get balls down the field. He is a one of a kind.

Cambell at times has gotten the ball to Santana. Moss just isn't in the same league as Smith.

Plus, with that line, Campbell would actually have time to go down the field.

Campbell is more accurate than the haters give him credit for.

A QB should never be hit on a three step drop. However, for JC it is a way of life.
