| Re: DC Area broadcaster George Michael passes away I remember back in my early college days before we had cable in our dorm rooms (damn I'm getting old) staying up to watch the Sports Machine on Sunday nights to see NFL highlights. RIP George Michael! |

| Re: DC Area broadcaster George Michael passes away George Michael was an original and a giant in the media, they showed the George Michael sports machine here in the SF bay area and nationwide. The DC area was blessed to have him, Warner Wolf and Glenn Brenner. RIP

| Re: DC Area broadcaster George Michael passes away He was a DC institution. In 2007 they told him he had to let people on the sports staff go to save money so instead he quit to save more people their jobs. I am sure he was getting ready to say farewell soon but still he went to bat for his people in the best way possible. I am sure SS has some insight on him. |

| Re: DC Area broadcaster George Michael passes away RIP. I remember watching The Sports Machine growing up. Awesome show, he was a great man. I think he did the Redskins Report too, maybe even some Redskin game announcing back in the day? He will be missed

| Re: DC Area broadcaster George Michael passes away im 31 too so the sports machine when i was a kid was the only thing even closely resembling today's version of sportscenter. my best memories of him was after a tyson ro big boxing match b/c his show was the only way to get caught up on what happened with video footage . . .this was before the internet. rip george.
