I agree, is there a bigger warrior in the league, he takes his beaten's and keep coming plus he did say for 2010, means we can sign him to a two year contract, with 2nd year option, and build from their, next year it's go be playoffs or bust for us.......

I struggle with this because I know it's not really Campbell's fault where he was drafted. But you don't trade multiple picks to get into the first round to draft a QB that can play well if everything around him is running smoothly. You spend a 6th round pick on a QB out of Washington State to do that.
Are you implying that we should have spent a 6th round pick on Alex Brink?

With the seven offenses that Campbell has had I'm saying no. I don't want to be sitting here at the end of next season reading comments on here about how Campbell just's needs another year under Shannahan. JC could of been a good QB, but i think the redskins ruined him by there constant change of offensive playcalling and the inability to build a line. Let's start fresh with a QB that the new coach wants and not just stick with another Gibbs leftover.

Pretty solid at over throwing the receiver or dirt balls. I got it. He's pretty solid at throwing the ball with all his strength no matter if its a 50 yrder or 5 yrder. and you forgot throwing behind his receivers. I think he has trouble inticipating where the WR will be and throwing to that point in order to hit them in stride. I guess that's the difference between good and great.... a QB that throws to where he's looking vs. throwing to where the receiver will be to catch the ball in stride.

How can you give Campbell a free pass because of our Oline struggles but suggest we need a new RB who in turn runs behind that poor line?

Re: Do You Want Jason Campbell Back in 2010?

Sorry now I'm bashing JC and I know this thread was not meant for that.

Throw him out with the bath water. Lets bring in fresh water. Don't feel bad though he's not the only one I'd get rid of. I think at this point I'd keep all the young guys that gave been here for less then 4 years and cut the rest. I'd keep AH also obviously.

I really cringe when we throw slants, JC always has that delay. So even when the receiver is open that extra second not only lets the defender get closer but the whole defense has that second to close the gap.

Re: Do You Want Jason Campbell Back in 2010?

Best thread in a while....

I look at it this way. If you took JC and dropped him in NE what would they do? I think he's a 4000/30TD guy there. Certainly not as good as Brady but I think he'd succeed wildly. Is he ever going to be a dynamic play maker that turns turd players into gold like Manning or Brees? No. But he has the same physical skill set that Tom Brady does. He struggles mentally compared to Brady but he isn't a dolt. I do have suspicions about his read ability. Part of me wonders if he has so much football in his head that he is lost in a football jungle but I also see the guy get destroyed every other play, lay on the ground for a few seconds and then get up and take the next snap. If I am an offensive player that freaking inspires me. His on field example is just top-notch to me.

And Rave...you forget what Ramsey was like after a couple seasons. JC is 5 times the QB Ransey ever was. He had didn't have the head for it at all and then he got scared.

I want to think they go hand in hand since the same line that blocks for the QB blocks for the running back. I have said before, because of all the breakdowns in this offense Campbell is difficult to evaluate.

Re: Do You Want Jason Campbell Back in 2010?

So another question for the no-sayers, do you feel that Campbell has leveled off in his improvement as a QB? I've got to think that setting career highs in all categories in spite of the disaster surrounding him means there's more there to tap into.

If we'd have won the Dallas, Philly and New Orleans games, all of which we held 4th quarter leads that the defense blew, we'd be on the cusp of a .500 season. Would we still be having this discussion?

i think this discussion would be going on regardless of us wining those games because he just seems to be so inaccurate, the only thing is there really isn't any better opition and he isn't that bad of a qb just not that good of one either

Maybe if he would of showed some improvement against the Bucs, Chiefs, Lions, and Panthers. I think after our poor start that plenty of fans jumped off the JC bandwagon.

Well let's not forget Campbell threw a costly interception at the end of regulation of the Saints game. He also threw one at the end of the Cowboys game (I think with around 2 minutes left).
