| Congratulations to Gregg Williams Separated by two years from what Williams could probably call "the year from hell", he gets to celebrate a high honor of Defensive Coordinator of the Super Bowl Champion Saints. From the lows of seeing his most prized player, and friend, Sean Taylor pass away during the 2007 season, losing in the first round of the playoffs during that heartbreaking season and finally being cast out of consideration for the Redskins head coaching job, he has come a long way. Though I don't like seeing former Redskins have good things happen to them, like Norv Turner, I don't mind so much that Gregg has found success with another team. Gregg seemed like a sincere individual and from the coverage of the Taylor tragedy, he seemed really affected by that loss outside of the football field. Congratulations again to him for contributing to a Super Bowl victory and overcoming his adversity. Fun Fact: Here are three more former Skins that will be able to put on Super Bowl rings: Mark Brunell, finally gets what he wanted and he'll probably retire after winning one. Chase Daniel, Rookie QB, gets the most coveted ring in his first career outing...must be nice Pierson Prioleau, one of Gregg's disciple's, he followed him from Buffalo, Washington, Jacksonville and then New Orleans and it finally paid off.

| Re: Congratulations to Gregg Williams Without Williams, the Saints are merely a fringe playoff spot holder in a weak division. With him, super bowl champions. They probably don't sign Jabari Greer without Williams' recommendation, and without him and Vilma and Sharper, this is a bottom five defense. Overall, they were top half, and defended Peyton Manning exactly how the Bears needed to in 2006.

| Re: Congratulations to Gregg Williams G. Williams made this a complete team and he should get the credit for shutting down the Colts offense. Warner-Favre-Manning. Great job Greg! 3 HOF quality QB's in a row. Hmmm....so defense DOES matter.

| Re: Congratulations to Gregg Williams Count me among those who wanted to see Double-G running the show here after Gibbs left. I'm glad he won the big one. If they don't get that pick six on Manning I'm reasonably certain the game goes the other way. And seriously, would ANYONE have taken a prop bet on Manning throwing a pick six in this game, much less at the critical point in which it occurred? So yeah, we miss you Ggggrilliamsss.

| Re: Congratulations to Gregg Williams Gregg Williams should still be in DC, maybe not as HC but as DC. I hate to think our DC had to go to NO to win the SB, too bad it couldn't have happened for him here. I'm happy for him nonetheless. |

| Re: Congratulations to Gregg Williams Hell of a coach, did you hear the story how NO got him, their HC called the owner & said we need this guy take $250,000 of my salary and add it to what we are offering to GW because i've got to have this DC. |

Like most people i was upset that Torrence was cut in favor of JT. I think Gregg really liked him, and obvisouly had a hand in his development into a solid number 3 cornor.

| Re: Congratulations to Gregg Williams Yeah! It was interesting to hear Payton reflect upon the fact he made the decision to go for Williams after downing a couple beers. It ultimately turned out to be a good decision. |

| Re: Congratulations to Gregg Williams You know who I'm really happy for? Saints' LB coach Adam Zimmer. To lose his mother so suddenly and tragically in the middle of the season and then to finish the year with a Super Bowl. Can't help but feel good for him right now

| Re: Congratulations to Gregg Williams Yes they get rings aswell, so Heath Evans and Charles Grant and yes even Leigh Torrence get SB rings, even though they're all on IR. Shockey got a second one, even though his first was when he was up in the stands drinking (broken leg, IR)while the giants beat the then undefeated pats

| Re: Congratulations to Gregg Williams And to think that we(the redskins former/current front office) thought that Jim Zorn would be a better Head Coach than Gregg Williams. I'm glad for him Prioleau and Brunell, as well as Sharper, Vilma, Brees, Will Smith, Colston, Jahri Evans, and all the other good vets/former good vets who didn't have a ring before.

Double-G was definitely neither of those options.

| Re: Congratulations to Gregg Williams Great post Skinny!!! I've wondering since yesterday what Gregg's next move will be. Personally I think he should stay in NO another year or two and wait for a great opportunity to become HC somewhere w/ a good offensive scheme. And like Tripp said w/ Williams the Saints are a perennial SB contender. The dude needs to watch is caloric intake closer but NO is a great fit.
