| Re: As Long As We're Talking Running Backs Over 30 Years Old Well it all depends. 1) Has Portis been cleared to play and what has the doctor recomended? If he's not cleared then he can't play and might be forced to retire. He could be cleared but recomended not to play any longer so no further damage occurrs. I don't want to see the team in a position like the Eagles were last yr with Westbrook. He comes back and take another hard hit and easily gets a concussion due to his previous one and is sitting on the bench taking a roster spot while we wait for a doctor to clear him. Plus he's almost 30. The only benifit we get from CP right now is he knows the scheme Shanahan will run. I'd rather get younger and healthier at the positions but if we cut Portis, Betts, and Rock and picked up one Vet FA and had Ganther, Mason, Alridge and a drafted RB I'm in. |

| Re: As Long As We're Talking Running Backs Over 30 Years Old I really hope the staff fully evaluates our current Redskins and puts together a RB group that will average atleast 5 ypc. We have too many runningbacks on this roster with little to no value and it would be better to draft some fresh legs in here rather than chase retreads

| Re: As Long As We're Talking Running Backs Over 30 Years Old Don't think he has anything more in the tank than either Westbrook or Tomlinson. Westbrook offers the most future value of any of the available thirty plus RBs (though I like Kevin Faulk personally). I think if the playoffs are a small indication, Jones is pretty much done. He might hang on for a year or two, but hopefully not with us.

| Re: As Long As We're Talking Running Backs Over 30 Years Old I'd rather have Clinton Portis and all those hungry young guys behind him.

Besides, there are a couple of [soon-to-be] ex-Broncos RBs that could come here.

| Re: As Long As We're Talking Running Backs Over 30 Years Old I like Jones, don't know if he'll be the best fit but who knows. We don't HAVE to draft a RB this year, there's next year to do that as well. |

How is TJ "just as productive"? He has less yards, touchdowns, ypc, receiving yards, receiving tds etc. and played an additional two seasons. JLC will always have a negative slant on the Redskins.

| Re: As Long As We're Talking Running Backs Over 30 Years Old RB shouldnt be a concern unless were talking draft. Well have a fresh look to the backfield and running scheme no matter what. A new rookie will set the tone. CP is still solid too.. youll see.

| Re: As Long As We're Talking Running Backs Over 30 Years Old its true that portis isn't 30 yet, but if you look at his injuries, the amount of carries he's had, and the fact that he doesn't take care of himself anymore, he's about 65 in people years. Him getting back in shape is the only chance he has this year, or he could be out of the league in 2011 if he has another crappy year.
