| Re: Why not Fred Davis for Gaither? why make a trade for a guy who is lazy and doesn't want to work? let's just draft our own LT and mold the guy. |

| Re: Why not Fred Davis for Gaither? Carnage, Besides that first mishap (and I know you've never accidentally over-slept) Fred Davis has done nothing but work, and work hard. Personally, I'd rather trade Cooley. I love the dude, but he's slightly older and would bring more value to the table. If Shanahan will actually use a lot of two TE sets, both as receivers, great. Keep both of them and look for mismatches. Otherwise, we need to trade one to build other, weaker, areas of our team.

| Re: Why not Fred Davis for Gaither? I really don't see how it would be a good idea to lose Cooley OR Davis. Assuming Cooley is 100%, under Shannahan's offense, he's a probowler! As for Davis, I would argue that he's AS physicaly gifted, but not MORE physicaly gifted than Cooley, but Cooley DEFINATELY has better hands in the passing game. Though Davis had fewer drops than the 2nd time rookies (Thomas & Kelly) he wasn't as sure handed as Cooley. That being said, without him, we'd have had fewer wins in Cooley's absense. Why NOT have two great TE's!?!? |

| Re: Why not Fred Davis for Gaither? If I HAD to trade, i guess I'd trade Cooley and hope Fred's hands develope. That's only because i think we can get more with Cooley as bait. But i don't want to trade Cooley! he's too good! he's not old for a TE, hes in his prime and if anyone is to reap the benefits, it should be US! |

| Re: Why not Fred Davis for Gaither? From what I have read in the Baltimore Sun, the Ravens might be willing move Gaither because they are fed up with his poor work ethic. So, if the Redskins are thinking that they might be able to pick up two talented young OT's by drafting Okung and trading for Gaither, they need to ask themselves if they want to try to reform Gaither. Also, is it better to have two talented TE's who are very similar players or two talented young OT's? I would say that it is definitely much better for the team to have the two good young OT's. Would the Ravens accept a Davis or Cooley for Gaither trade? I doubt it because they already have a good, if declining, TE in Todd Heap and now they have Anquan Boldin who can give them some of the same capabilities that Davis or Cooley would bring. My bottom line on the whole idea of trading for Gaither is that I would take the risk and even overpay (in trade value) for him if we could put something together that would convince the Ravens to trade him. Then I would draft Okung or another top OT who has the potential to play on the left side. Gaither would start out playing LT and the rookie would play RT. Then , down the road, the Skins would determine whether or not to switch the two. Either way, we would have the critical OLT position covered. |

| Re: Why not Fred Davis for Gaither? Teams don't trade solid young left tackles for tight ends. Sounds great on paper, but Baltimore would never do it. |

| Re: Why not Fred Davis for Gaither? No on Gaither. We're drafting Okung and trading some players for another pick or two. I think the best case scenario is packaging Cooley/JC together somehow because we'll get more than each could bring individually.

| Re: Why not Fred Davis for Gaither? The ravens had the highest ranked o-line in the NFL last year. That they would diminish it for a TE is highly unlikely. |
