Campbell was a bust for us, and he will likely suck in Oakland (due to poor leadership in that orginization and no help from players) meaning he will solidify himself as a bust.
Look at Roy Williams, he has played 25 games for the Cowboys, and has had only 57 receptions for 794 yards during those games. He was a Pro Bowler for the Lions, and played extremely well for them. So why is it Roy Williams is now a bust for the Cowboys?
By your definition, Roy Williams never won games with the Lions, so there should be no relative considerations, he was a bust when he was acquired by the Cowboys, and he's done nothing to change his plight there.

By the definitions of others, Williams has been a bust for the Cowboys because he was acquired from the Lions for a hefty price and with great expectations, and hasn't offered them acceptable production for their investment. I don't think too many people would actually propose that Williams isn't an NFL caliber player, but given that he was no great shakes for the Lions, the price that Dallas payed to get him looks obscene by comparison.

It's true that Roy Williams didn't offer quite the production that Detroit was hoping to get from a top ten pick, but he was able to play like a professional for four seasons there. Therefore, poor value, though clearly not a bust. Dallas wasn't looking for a professional in 2008, they were paying to get a developed no. 1 receiver, which there was little reason to think Williams would be.

You're just hearing about this now?

Word was McNabb would have considered retiring had he been traded there.

Check out the resume on JC that the Raiders site posted:

Raiders Acquire QB Jason Campbell

Wow. 6th all time in passing yards for the Skins, highest completion % in club history?

Never thought of him that way.

I guess they missed the part about him being one of the biggest busts in club history

He would need to put on some more weight for that, but that shouldn't be a problem. Gaining weight is one of the things he actually does well.

if he gets cut by the raiders, Buffalo might be interested. If not, maybe the CFL will be. If not, theres always sumo wrestling.

Not really, when I think of Redskins busts, Heath Shuler...ARGH.

He's still a gigantic upgrade over their own bust QB.

I know, he's not a bust. Just being sarcastic in regard to those that think he is.

Re: Campbell A Raider

It's getting tough to detect sarcasm vs. serious posts around here lately. There have been some ridiculous trains of thought since Zorn took the job.

Sure there was always a few loonies, but they seem to have multiplied in the past 2 years. Maybe it's all of the ES bannings.

Sure HS was a bust but the Skins didnt give away a bunch of picks to get him. To me its all those picks that they gave away is what puts the bust label on JC. Not only did JC not pan out they didnt get ant benefit from the 3 picks they gave away to get him. That's a 4 player loss and a pretty big hit.

So, are you arguing that if, for the sake of argument, we had picked JC at #25 without giving up extra picks, he would not be a bust?

well when most of your QBs only play for like a year or three, you can climb the charts pretty quickly lol

he's closer to what you'd call a draft bust than an actual bust

it wasn't his fault that we gave up all of that for him
