| Re: And the Brett Favre saga begins again lol They better hope he shows since they passed on Clausen multiple times. There is no doubt in my mind that he will be back. In my opinion he should've retired after last year because unless they win the Super Bowl this year it will be a disappointment. |

Of course, he just has to hope that another season won't end even worse than the last one.

| Re: And the Brett Favre saga begins again lol Damnit, we could have traded Jason Campbell to the Vikings for Adrian Peterson, Percy Harvin, and Steve Hutchinson (well...we probably would have needed to throw Reed Doughty in to make it fair) Quick, someone figure out how to get Campbell back and start a thread on this possibility!

The job of mass media is to entertain and keep you focused on trivial crap while real serious issues/problems are pushed back into obscurity. Fact is the 24/7 news/sports cycle is to blame. How much new crap can these stations put out every day, every hour? Not too much, thus they make their own news by "pushing" stories on their viewers.

| Re: And the Brett Favre saga begins again lol If I were a teammate of this drama king I would just call him out. It's all about him every off season. But Minn. knew what they were getting when they signed up for the side show. |

| Re: And the Brett Favre saga begins again lol With Favre comes the drama, but look at his production last year. That's why guys don't call him out. As you say the Vikes knew what they were getting. |

And he's been steadfast in his defense of Favre as his QB even as Favre isn't acting like he owes anyone anything. Granted, as soon as Favre gets too old to be effective (and that day is coming eventually...right?), this will all blow up in Childress' face if he doesn't cut the cord before then, but as long as he knows his team and thinks his team is going to win with Favre under center, I think he's found a way around the "having to build a team the right way" mantra. The Vikings are what Snyder thought the Redskins could be about a decade ago.

| Re: And the Brett Favre saga begins again lol yea, ESPN is to blame but so is Favre/Childress. they are the ones that plant these monthly "he's undecided" and "vikes say favre has no timetable" and "childress says favre can take his time." sure, ESPN sucks them up and "reports" them as "news" but Favre, Childress and the Vikes could come out and say what we all assume: he's planning on coming back. we ALL know that favre/childress spoke and that's his plan and that they'll play the "undecided" game all summer so they both can save face when he skips camp again. if he was really undecided, there would have been more talk about Minny being in the mix for JC or Clausen. i'm not saying the ankle surgery is a lie, but as someone else pointed out, it will be the perfect excuse for Favre/childress so that he can miss camp with a good reason. last year he technically hadn't signed so everyone was all about the hype and the newness of #4 in purple. but that's gone. he's under contract and as the leader on the field SHOULD BE AT CAMP. but he wont be. so i think they are playing games and i've lost a lot of respect for him. all this shit about how much he loves the game and is The Greatest Teammate just doesn't ring true. go to camp. a vet qb can surely have a lighter load and be excempt from a bunch of stuff, but he should be there. it's crap.
