| Re: Thank Goodness We DON'T Have Tom Brady Well this makes sense. He has already won rings and is a baller, he feels the need to spend his time on family related issues. I think that is acceptable.

I agree it's acceptable, but let's also realize EVERY team has players who aren't at these camps, and yes this was a back-handed way to say get off AH's back. With that vent out, I understand if the mods lock or merge this thread.

| Re: Thank Goodness We DON'T Have Tom Brady His children should come before anything else. Good for him. Obviously you posted this as a parallel to Haynesworth's stuff. I don't think there's much of a comparison. Haynesworth is a fat lazy loser who doesn't want to do offseason work with the team because he thinks he deserves to be traded. He's a malcontent jackoff IMO. Can't stand the guy. AH will start getting the benefit of the doubt from me when he carries us to two Super Bowls like Brady.

| Re: Thank Goodness We DON'T Have Tom Brady Great point GMScud, after AH starts winning he can get away with things without scrutiny. Also I think this is a legitimate debate. He was hurt, didn't play well last season, etc. I side with the family however. Just how I feel.

| They should trade his ass but who would want a malcontent like that? The dude's a cancer and a disruption to his team! For the kind of money he's making he should LIVE at the practice facility. He epitomizes the term "Spoiled, selfish, athlete". Bastard! Man these guys piss me off!

Are you saying that AH's situation is worst than when Shawn Springs completely disappearing during the offseason a few seasons ago? Or the Miami players on this team training on their own because they felt like it? Like I said, people need to get over the 100 mil stuff. Personally, I wish Haynesworth was training with the team, however, I don't think this is the worst thing that could be happening with the team. You know what I think is worst than this? Changing to the 3-4 and creating a whole bunch of needs on team that didn't have many draft picks. But still, I'm willing to give MS the benefit of the doubt.

| Re: Thank Goodness We DON'T Have Tom Brady Family will be there long after the fans forget your name and the luster of Lombardi trophies wear off. The most impoirtant thing a man can do is be a father to his children. Tom Brady should not face any criticism for this AT ALL. He is a proven winner (3 times) and has never shown up out of shape or unprepared. I congratulate rady for seeing what truly is most important.

| Re: Thank Goodness We DON'T Have Tom Brady Both Brady and Haynesworth should be working out with their teams, but until these camps are mandatory there's nothing you can do. |

| Re: Thank Goodness We DON'T Have Tom Brady I don't necessarily agree with the OP. Brady has family. Kids. He wants to spend time with them. That is usually noble. He knows the plays. Perhaps only a hand full of plays will be new to him so when he comes back in June for mandatory camp he can learn those new plays. In the mean time it gives the back ups time to practice and the O-line someone to practice with. As far as AH.... you all do know his home is in Tenn. He has a wife and kids also. Yes he just had a few months off but if he were to be here for the last month and a half working out like the rest then when was he supposed to see his family? I honestly don't see the situation differently. Brady's kids as well as AH's kids are in school right now. If both want to see or be with their kids now is the time cause pretty soon (next month) mandatory camp starts for both and then they are into the season. Yes, AH's family will then be on summer break and hopefully be able to visit him here, but then school starts back up in Sept. They will have to go back. No different then Brady's situation. Except brady is divorced? I don't like that AH is not here also but as long as he is not breaking any rules (which he's not) then I find it hard to fault or condemn the man. The league, owners, and players union agreed to these rules and although times have changed the rules have not. You know what happens when you don't like the rules.... you change them. Until the league or owners change the rules then AH is only exercising is rights which were faught for by his players union. Of all people the union people should understand this most of all. |

| Re: Thank Goodness We DON'T Have Tom Brady how the hell is albert haynesworth being compared to tom brady? Brady has won superbowls for the patriots. he knows the offense inside and out. he's a high character guy and he's skipping voluntary activities to be with his son. as someone many look to as a role model, tom brady's absence from the patriots minicamp sends the RIGHT message to public about what a persons priorities should be. Haynesworth has never won anything. people have questioned his drive and work ethic his entire career. he stomped on a guys face. dan snyder just wrote him a 22MM check. he's skipping voluntary activities because he disagrees with how the coaching staff wants to use him. he's also reportedly trying to force a trade. as someone who many people could look to as a role model, haynesworth is sending out only one message - "i'm a jack ass!" a players absence from volutary activities isnt the issue - its his motivations for being absent and how that affects the unity of a team. i'm sure alot of guys on the patriots team wish tom brady was there. however, i garauntee you they all respect the man.

| Re: Thank Goodness We DON'T Have Tom Brady Clearly you did not look at my valuable custom User Title. This was witty cynicism at its finest. Tom Brady should no more be cut then AH. But I imagine, without looking that somewhere in the blogospher, vbbulletin world, is a thread and page of a Patriots fans who believe that Tom Brady ought to be at camp first as he always was. |

Sorry but Brady isn't going to get cut cause he's not showing up at voluntary workouts. The QB should be there but as we saw last year w/ Farve the top guys probably don't need it.
