What are the chances of him not kicking next week? Didnt he get hurt on that botched extra point?

Heard one of the talking heads on TV say that the Redskins have had 16 kickers in the last 15 years - - since Chip Lohmiller cashed it in.

You would think that just once the special teams coaches here could have found a long-term keeper, no?

Gano has missed 10 FGs this year which is the highest in the NFL.

Meanwhile just to rub salt in the wound, Shaun Suisham is 9 for 9 with the Steelers and will be heading to the playoffs - - unless he breaks a leg.

I turned to my buddy before the extra point try and said we would be better off just going for the win and two points. I know the extra point was not on the kicker but it just adds salt to the wound after missing two FG.

I said earlier that I would start getting worried about Gano when he started shanking 20 yarders. Well now that that day has arrived, it won't suprise me if he gets replaced. I just want a long term replacement, I'm tired of going through kickers, never finding a decent one good enough.

I was kinda hoping they would go for two, not because I thought they would F up the PAT but just because MS has rolled the dice in the past in Denver in situations like that, and really what did we have to lose?

That's almost as bad as our quarterbacks over that time period!
People definitely need to hear that stat though when they call for Gano's job. I'm always an apologists for kickers, and while it's certainly getting hard to defend Gano at this point (neither of the snaps and holds on either of those missed FGs yesterday were clean, by the way), it should be pointed out to those who are calling for his head that his replacement will likely be just as bad.

Shanny says Gano will play if healthy, this is just precautionary in case his rib injury causes him to miss games

And Landry has been put on IR

Gano definitely had a fireable performance yesterday, but Changing kickers with 3 games left at 5-8 just seems like wanking your crank.
