Wade Phillips Fired; Jason Garrett Named Interim Head Coach

I think 1-15 is now a sure thing. Garrett COULD actually be worse than Wade at coaching.

He needs to be fired too. I understand that they can't just get a whole new staff in-season, but they'd probably be better off just keeping Wade and firing everyone in January.

Jerry has a weird crush on Garrett though. This is not really surprising.

Haslett is better.

The D will be worse off if we scrap the 3-4 after ONE season. We're in a transition year on both sides of the ball...and we're still better than Dallas.

We're figuring things out personnel-wise wit the 3-4. Carter is playing DE again, Haynesworth is playing well now...we're improving.

I doubt wade would want to coach with the guy that replaced him in Denver.

Yeah but Garrett ain't the golden child like he was two or three years ago. He's just another coordinator now, and barring the Cowboys running the table from here on out, I don't see the Cowboys or any other NFL team pinning their hopes to Garrett.

As bad as we stunk it up last year and as much as Zorn probably deserved to get canned during the season, I'm glad Snyder showed the restraint that he did.

This is terrible news. I'll miss seeing Wade looking confused on the sideline and miss his effect in the standings.

By permitting Vinny to humiliate him with the play calling duties change, a change many reasonably saw as a deliberate attempt to force Zorn to quit? Or were you joking?

I wasn't joking, he stayed hands off when he could have fired Zorn and Vinny if he wanted to. It was Vinny's circus and he let him run his shitshow right into the ground.

I wish our return visit was this week with the disarray that is the Dallas Cowboys. My fear is that they will be playing much better ball late in the year with guys playing to save their jobs.

Sorry. I'm just not buying that there was anything exemplary about how the Zorn situation was handled last year--by Cerrato or Snyder--or that Jerry Jones has done something that reflects any sort of insenstive shooting from the hip. He has no choice because he can't/won't acknowledge that he is a part (to whatever extent) of the problem. Last year Snyder realized that he was a part of the problem, he stepped back, and let the individuals play out their hands. No it wasn't pretty, but it allowed for clarity of action. Here is a quote from JJ last night:
