Its the owners at this point i think. The owners make it easy to place blame on one side now at this point....Let them sit out then. Let's see how long their money lasts when there is NO REVENUE coming in.

They wouldn't sue immediately would they? I know decertifying gives them that option, but I was under the impression that it's a card they would play if the owners try to push forward w/out a deal.

Im miffed with the sport so extremely strong in a down economy where revenues are just astronomical they cant come to an agreement. Sometimes I dont think Goodell, the owners and the players realize that got things so good when alot of people are struggling so bad. They really need to tighten up, its ridiculous.

To understand better what is going on, may I suggest you read this attachment. It applies to both sides in this matter...

NFLLabor.com President Obama on NFL labor negotiations: “Two parties should be able to work it out without the President intervening” «

Quote:
“You’ve got owners, most of whom are worth close to $1 billion. You’ve got players who are making millions are dollars. My working assumption at a time when people are having to cut back, compromise and worry about making the mortgage and paying for their kids’ college education is that the two parties should be able to work it out without the President of the United States intervening,” President Obama said.

“I’m a big football fan, but I also think for an industry that is making $9 billion a year in revenue, they can figure out how to divide it up in a sensible way and be true to their fans who are the ones who, obviously, allow for all of the money that they are making,” the President continued. “My expectation and hope is that they will resolve it without me intervening, because it turns out I have got a lot of other stuff to do.”

Read it, pretty useless though.

Still more on the owners side, (basically they took a bad deal rather than fight it tooth and nail in 2006, and I give them a few small kudos on that). Of course in the end, it's more "not the players side"(this batch of players has made oodles more than Clark, Monk, Green ever could have imagined. They could back off a step and still be handsomely paid for their gifts and talents) then pro-owners. They both need to stop and get a deal done, and clearly neither side is doing that today.
