Re: Snyder writes open letter to Washington Post regarding City Paper lawsuit

Any time a term is used in law, the COLLOQUIAL definition of the term must be thrown out the window.

In the case of malice, the definition is:

The intent, without just cause or reason, to commit a wrongful act that will result in harm to another.

Read more: malice: West's Encyclopedia of American Law (Full Article) from Answers.com

On a separate note, Snyder indeed bullshitted with the cancer card big time. Did he even read the article? The "accusation" in the article is that she was basically was a shill playing "personal transformation" card, as if he pulled a St. Paul-like transformation for making a mere HIRING decision.

So tired of Dan Snyder. I just wish he'd go away and sell the team.

Tony Kornheiser not known for being critical of Snyder has finally weighed in on this particular situation. [Q] ďIt seems to me spiteful and vengeful, because itís not gonna accomplish the goal. I donít see the principle here, other than the principle of bullying, and I think itís a shame for the team. I think itís a shame that a steward of a team that -- while he owns the team, the city feels it has a stake in it -- that itís getting involved in a suit like this.Ē [U]

Re: Snyder writes open letter to Washington Post regarding City Paper lawsuit

Dan Snyder wrote an op-ed for his most favoritest paper in town, the Washington Post. Itís a fun update on his lawsuit against Washington City Paper, the local alt-weekly that nobody paid attention to until three months ago. Itís dumb.

I expect to be criticized once again for pursuing this lawsuit. I originally filed it for one reason:
[image of below average male genitalia]

The paper refused to issue an apology and retract false and damaging attacks on my integrity.
Oh come on, thatís satire.

If it had done so, there would have been no lawsuit.
Okay, Iím sorry. Just donít tell Jarret and Brian. Talib mentioned them on Gutter Rainbows. Thatís crazy!

For more than eight months, the same writer at this tabloid blogged or wrote about me.
Are you not impressed with my newsworthiness?

The reporters of The Post and other papers know that my communications adviser, Tony Wyllie, is available 24-7 to respond to questions about me and the Washington Redskins.
So enamored with Vinny Cerrato was Snyder that he replaced his former sidekick with two men, Wyllie and GM Bruce Allen. Wyllie appears to be the right-hand man and future reluctant radio show host, while Allen is the franchiseís mouthpiece and eventual fall-guy.

This writer, however, chose not to call to check the facts before he wrote an article last November that contained so many false assertions.
Of which Snyder rebuts exactly one. Sort of.

I have never sued people who publish critical opinions of me, nor have I previously sued any news organization.
If you canít sue Ďem, buy Ďem.

I understand the anger people feel toward me when the Redskins have a losing season or when we sign a veteran player who does not meet expectations.
Or when we forbid you to bring signs in to the hellscape that is our stadium. Or when we go in to the draft with holes at all but two positions without third or fourth round draft picks.
Seriously, how does this keep happening? People are starting to ask questions.

1. Not enough.
2. Who cares? Most of the good players are staying in school because youíre a selfish asshole, Harrison Barnes.
3. So many.

I have been a Redskins fan all my life, and I get angry, too, including at myself.
He has the scars on his inner thigh to show for it.

I am the first to admit that Iíve made mistakes as an owner.
Technically speaking youíre more like #2,498,074.

I hope Iíve learned from them.
And yet, this lawsuit.

All I want is for the Redskins to win!
Snyderís exclamation marks are like creepy smiles.

I honor vigorous free expression in the media.
Pre-approved free expression, preferably.

But even a public figure can sue for defamation when a tabloid paper publishes a harmful assertion of a fact, not an opinion, that it knows to be false or recklessly disregards the truth.
I hope Dan Snyderís lawyerís dad went to a really good law school, because proving what Dave McKenna knew to be false is going to be a tough mother****er.
[...nonsense that will be bandied about in court]

Letís be clear what this lawsuit is not about.

I don't know what is more annoying, Dan Snyder, or the people that cry about him all the time. I think it is about even.

I don't think you'd hear the people crying about Snyder if it wasn't for him being in the news. I know I surely haven't started any threads bashing Dan. Nope, I only have to wait till he does something profoundly stupid and let one of you guys bring it up. Get rid of one, and the other will go away. That much I can assure you.

Thats simular to saying:

I dont know whos worse; Kim Jong il or the UN for sanctioning him everytime he does something retarded.

You dont hear us crying (or the UN sanctioning) when Snyder (or Kim Jong il) doesnt act like a child. All Snyder has to do is stop.

Well then someone tell me how this directly affects the Redskins? How does Dan Snyder suing the Washington City Paper directly affects the football operations of the Washington Redskins?

Will it affect the draft?
Free agency?
Training camp?
How the team performs during the season?

I think Dan Snyder has given Redskins fans and Redskins ticket holders a lot to complain about, and rightfully so. But as I said, I don't think this directly has to do with the Redskins.

Do I agree with what he is doing? Not really. Do I need to rant about it like it is affecting me directly? Nope. Is this going to affect the way the Redskins play? And no.

It can affect the team as it relates to other potential business partners and UFA that might say 'I will not work for (or with) a guy that makes such poor personal decisions.'
Snyder is coming off as an owner who isn't confident enough in himself and his image to let something as minor as this go and slip into nobody cares-ville where it would be if ego maniac himself would stop bringing it into national media spot light. His ego is a huge balloon.
