If You Could Add Just One

If you could add just one NFL player not currently on the Redskins roster, and who is known to be on the market (via trade or free agency), who would it be?

Re: If You Could Add Just One

i don't think anyone one player that is available would make that big of a splash for us but in the spirit of the thread I pick:

Nnamdi Asmogha

I echo Colt's statement. Maybe not Kahlil, but a top OL FA.

Must be Peyton Manning. You said "via trade"!

OK, must be "on the market"? Then I'll say Nnamdi.

Davin Joseph or Yanda, whichever is youngest.

I got a feeling that Reggie Bush will be here.

Nnamdi, hands down. Turns our defense into the best in the NFC EAST.

My sexy pick would be Rice, more electric than any WR we've had in awhile

But if picking just one it would have to be whoever the best fitting NT would be

Really? This Redskins team last season had the worst defense for the B&G in around 50 years. Doubtful that Nnamdi vaults us to the tops in the division.

Wouldn't be surprised to see the Texans land Asomugha.

Re: If You Could Add Just One

If I was Nnamdi, my top five would be:

1. Green Bay
2. New York Jets
3. Baltimore Ravens
4. Tampa Bay Bucs
5. Washington Redskins/Houston Texans/Dallas Cowboys

In that order. But realistically, the top three teams I would WANT to go to if I was Nnamdi may not be able to make offers competitive with teams like the Bucs, Texans, and Redskins.

X2

the more I think of NA at CB I realize he is 30 and by the time this team gets good he will be well on the decline. Rather spend the money on multiply players.

Re: If You Could Add Just One

re: Kalil, really good player. But even ignoring the draft pick compensation, trading for players on the franchise tender create an obvious overpaying situation. They are already guaranteed 8 figures for this year. So their signing bonus for a long term deal has to, as a rule of thumb, double what they are going to be making this year anyway.

$20 million dollars up front for a center plus competitive salaries is a lot to spend on a player who isn't 23 years old and cannot singlehandedly change the direction of the offense. He would fill a gaping hole here. But if the Redskins were really serious about replacing Rabach, options to do so are readily available.
