Each time I see a fan say SIGN (insert big name FA), I want to reach through my PC and slap the shit out of them and remind them of the past decade.

Should go something like this.

You'd think they've seen enough to never want to touch another big ticket FA again, but much like your example, the battered spouse continues going back and doing the only thing they know.

This is how you know Dan Snyder is truly a fan. He's just like many of these guys up here (and other forums). Trade X pics for Orton and sign Nnamdi, Jenkins, Holmes and Yanda!! GET IT DONE!! Never mind the fact it would destroy our cap to come and if it didn't work, we'd be screwed for about 5-6 years.

But damn if this doesn't make me jealous. That guy is smart, well spoken, and a TREMENDOUS team and character guy. Of all the stars in the NFL, he's got to be the least likely to punk out.

Stupid Eagles.
Well put. Agreed.

I am impressed with what the Eagles FO has done in the last couple of years. They are the NFC version of New England. They get draft pick after draft pick all while picking up serious talent. Getting a 2nd rounder and DOmnique Cromartie for Kolb.

Yes you can. Things feel painfully unfunny now that the Eagles have him, but at least you tried.

Really, we are just fortunate that Andy Reid is a dipshit when it comes to play calling and horrible at clock management. Otherwise, he'd probably have a few SB rings by now.

Now that my thought process is returning to rational levels, it's still kinda hard to get used to the fact that we aren't in that mode anymore, that we need to be content to fill holes with young solid players with plenty of upside.

Now that Nnamdi is with the Eagles, I look at it kind of like a perfect match. They were already a contender, and one of their biggest weaknesses was just addressed by signing a guy perfect for their system. The Eagles will be able to put him in plenty of man to man situations, and they'll be able to do so many things with him out there shutting down half the field.

But had he signed here, I would've had my doubts about how he would fit into our system. We don't go man to a man a lot, and who knows, Asomugha might be just as good in zone as he is in man to man, but from what I've seen of him, the Raiders' coaching staff knew how to use him and make him most effective by keeping him in man to man most of the time. I think over time this will end up being a good thing for this franchise, that we didn't sign him, but you can't help but think of how much better the Eagles just got.

I guess I'm just going to console myself by saying we are on the rebuilding path this year, and that's what we need to be content doing so that we can be better in the long run. The moves that we've made this offseason indicate we're not gearing up for a run in the short term, like the Eagles are. So let them contend this year, hopefully they'll end up failing.
Really well articulated and I agree on all fronts. They did what was right for them, we're doing what's right for us. They'll be better this year.

But hopefully we'll be just good enough to spoil their party a bit. I'd love to see us steal a couple from them and make them go on the road to Lambeau or Atlanta.

Cooley and Davis all day against their LBs. They can't cover squat.

Now, about that Michael Vick character...

When we play the Eagles we just need to go with 10 Offensive Lineman get Ryan Pain Train Torain back there for the direct snap and just run it down their throats. Then hope maybe he can do the old school Tebow jump pass every once in a while. Hail!!!

Yes. This was not an addition, it was an upgrade.

I would think the Eagles are stacking up on corners to slow down the 4+ recievers sets that the Packers are known for.

I hate the Cowboys, the Giants, and Philly in that order It just puzzles me why we are always second rate. BTW, Nnambdi A wouldn't have come to the Redskins at any price. That is a sad state of affairs!
