Of course, no injuries first.

Then, I want to see if the 3-4 actually looks like a 3-4 this season, instead of a group 4-3 players playing out of position.

Kicking competition should be interesting. Graham is a proven kicker but Gano has the upside.

I want to see pass protection from the RB position with Portis' blocking gone and possibly Sellers too. We know Hightower can block, but what about Helu, Royster, Young?

This reminds me of those discussions with the Marko Mitchell, Devin Thomas, and Colt Brennan fans. WE WILL RUE THE DAY WE CUT THEM!! Years later, Marko is getting cut by a CFL team.

Banks is a return specialist so if he's lost anything after the injuries, then he could definitely lose his spot if one of the young guys looks good on returns (Paul, Robinson, Austin), but I like his chances and he's sooo fun to watch.

Was looking at the new rules for next year and found it funny reading one of the bullets, A defenseless player is described as...a kicker/punter during the kick or return. Don't need to worry about our new punter being able to take a hit, Rokea (as the immortal Gus Johnson pronounces it), got his toughness playing Aussie rules football.

Anybody that plays Aussie rules football is a badass to begin with. Even Chuck Norris wouldn't dare question those guy's toughness.

Chuck Norris invented Aussie rules football so he could have something to do when he wanted to relax.

Are you crazy? There's no comparision to those other players and Banks. Banks was the best redskins player in at least a couple of the games last season.

Seconded.

Also I'll be looking at the new players. I'll be beer vending the game, so I won't get to watch till the 4th quarter, which in preseason I really won't be that excited about, but I'll be sure to tape it and watch the first half later. Don't forget to tip your vendors ;-)

How so? Remember that one good game Devin Thomas had? I've seen so many fans talk about how we were going to regret cutting him. Banks is ok, but he's a dime a dozen. He was middle of the pack in KR average, and had that one fantastic game in Detroit and it's like everybody put this guy on a level he doesn't deserve. You want to compare him to the other return greats, but he doesn't even remotely come close to those guys. Hester, Cribbs, and most of the other return guys contribute in other areas. He is not.

Don't take my word for it, Skins reporter Chris Russell says he's not liked much around Redskins park. Seems like he has attitude issues.

Ahh the memories. I was so giddy that day. Coach Gibbs was back and we had a shiny new RB all ready to dominate.

If I knew then what I know now....

Actually I don't remember the good game that Devin Thomas had. And you know that "good" game that Banks had: it broke a franchise record for return yards. And he also scored a 96-yard touchdown (the first redskins punt or kickoff td return since 2006). His returns also lead to 15 other redskins points that game. Another 95-yard touchdown return was nullified by a penalty. So to call that game "a good game" is grossly understating it and his skills-- regardless of what you think of him in the lockerroom or off the field.

A Shanahan quote after that game: "If you weren't impressed with him, then you don't enjoy football."

I guess you don't enjoy football much.
