I was never sold on Shanny coming here, and I'm even less sold now than I was the day he was hired. I know things take time and he wasn't coming into an ideal situation by any means, but he's not really doing a lot on a weekly basis to inspire any confidence moving forward. The last few weeks we haven't even looked competitive.

| Re: What's your take on our coaching? The Spurrier era was perhaps the biggest mess I've seen in all my years "in the biz". What's happening now really doesn't compare in my opinion. Mike Shanahan wasn't my first choice, probably not even my second. But I think you don't quit on him. Not yet at least. I wish we had gotten a QB this past year. And maybe the lockout impacted that decision not to go for one. I mean I know it did, just don't know to what extent. However, I don't feel like Shanahan and Allen and co. are just sitting around twiddling their thumbs in lieu of getting a QB. We are making other personnel moves that I believe will benefit us once we get a QB...which hopefully will be in April 2012...unless Crompton's our guy! (that one's for Lotus)

EXCELLENT question! Remember how important it was for the QB to be able to hurry up and run the 2-minute offense? Remember how impressed the coaches were with John Beck and the tempo at which he played? Here are three games in a row where the Redskins have been behind and there has been no semblance of a hurry-up offense. So what happened to the tempo?

Dallas Cowboys D-coordinator Rob Ryan says loss is 'all on me' - ESPN Dallas I kid of course...or am I? I must say, seeing Dallas get whopped got me through this terrible loss. Although, I am not looking forward to that game against the Iggles later in the season. Bleh.

| Re: What's your take on our coaching? Speaking of coaching, do you think that Rex Grossman will get the starting job back if Beck has another poor game and the skins lose? I mean why not? The season isn't lost per say just yet, but sometimes QBs respond well after benching and who knows, maybe Rex can go back to the way he was the 1st 3 games!!

I keep hearing people say this, but if there isn't anything available, and you feel there aren't any QBs worthy of our draft spot, what do you propose he do? Let's not even forget the whole lockout up till training camp and the ton of holes this team had prior to the draft and still has. Even if he did draft a QB at our spot, it means we don't get all those extra picks and have even a worse team than what we have now. Imagine that. Also, would you want your rookie QB sitting behind that line in Buffalo? Kid's confidence would have been shattered, if not his arm.

Has nothing to do with being a SB contender. This team isn't competing period. It looks in dissarray almost as bad as the Spurrier and Zorn tenures here. We get our proverbial ass kicked by Carolina after a bye week and an extra week to prepare. Then we get shutout in Toronto of all places. You can rebuild and still be a competitive team. Norv was rebuilding also, but remained pretty competitive for the most part. Same with Schotty. Sorry Charlie, but we have seen this scenario a few too many times in the last decade or so. You already have teammates chewing each other out, the fingers are starting to point. Pretty soon the coaching staff loses the lockerroom, etc and you are toast. IF Shanny doesn't rectify the situation he deserves to be thrown out on his keister. This isn't about the W/L column per say anymore, it is about getting a real football team on the field on Sunday. | |
