I think this is a good, easily identifiable baseline.
Now, I'm thinking that 8-8 or 9-7 next year probably doesn't do anything to make me feel better on the Shanahan hire: pretty much anyone with common sense can build an average football team in three years. The draft order basically does that for you. But I think that improvement would mean the Redskins are (finally) on the right track. With how soft the schedule has been this year, there's no way for this team to get to 8 wins without dramatically improving the team over the next offseason.
