| Re: Make a Decision on London Fletcher's Future True, Carlos Rodgers left here for a $4 million/1 year deal. I guess I'd go somewhere in the neighborhood of $4-$5.5 million/1 year. We really need him around to teach the apparent incumbent for the MLB position how to play it in the 3-4 and/or be a leader like Fletch. I'd get Burfict in the first round (Foles in the second). If not we could get a ILB in Free Agency. But in all honesty I would get that many guys in FA because thats NOT how to build a team, that to just fix some of the cracks. Look at why Pittsburgh, Green Bay, San Diego(maybe not this year but past years), Indy (ditto for SD), New England have been successful, they go out and get a max of 2 guys in free agency and build through the draft.

| Re: Make a Decision on London Fletcher's Future I'm going to take the other side and think of it from London Fletcher's perspective. Wouldn't you pretty much take any deal you could get to join Gregg Williams and the Saints? You get a shot to win a title, you're playing for a coach you adore, and you're in a system you can run and fits you to a T. Gregg would move Vilma to OLB for Fletcher. |

| Re: Make a Decision on London Fletcher's Future I say sign him before the season is over, the Redskins really need Fletcher he's the heart and soul of the Defense and a positive influence. London Fletcher believes in Redskins, who should re-sign him before he reconsiders - The Washington Post

| Re: Make a Decision on London Fletcher's Future I'd keep him around as long as he plays if he is willing. Then I'd figure out a way to make him a coach. |

| Re: Make a Decision on London Fletcher's Future I 2nd that. I coached inside backers in HS and college for years, i used to think Singletary was the best at getting everybody lined up, using his reads, and locking in on his keys, but Fletcher is right there on his heels. Singletary had a harder job with the 46, but Fletchers emotion and atention to detail is amazing. Keep him forever!!!

| Re: Make a Decision on London Fletcher's Future I'd hope we keep Fletcher as well, but if he signs somewhere else, I think we should think about drafting Luke Kuechly from Boston College.

Yeah i agree and he is the face of the entire team in my opinion. Of all the players we overpaid throughout Danny's tenure, Fletcher is one player that i would be cool with giving way too much. From SFREDSKINS article: Quote:
Does anyone know know where Fletcher's primary residence is? As good of a player is i wonder what team he would want to stay connected with after retirement. If this was his last year do you think he sees himself as a Redskin, Bill, or Ram?

He might go somewhere like NO, as Schneed suggests, because its simply a good fit, good coach & less adjustment. A lot of other teams might offer a chance for another super bowl, but he may not be inclined to want to start over again. I think he'll stay unless he feels insulted by the Skins contract offer. | |
