| Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search That's because this regime has proven that they can't get the players they really want and need. 2 years in a row the Shannahan's had to "settle" for the player they drafted. All while I'm seeing other teams making moves to get the player they "want" and "need". Despite his numerous flaws at-least Cerrato was able to get the players he wanted, unlike these clowns who actually thought Grossman was the answer to our most pressing need. |

It's definitely too early. I think the 2nd pick will be a QB (Foles or Tannehill being the most likely) and that we're going to add a FA QB before the draft (not Grossman, not Flynn either)

| Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search According to Holmgren a few weeks ago he stated that the Browns will "stay the course, and not blow up what they created". Looks like he's doing exactly what he said he wasn't going to do. |

Don't know that we can get Blackmon at 6 or like any other WR in the draft to take as high as 6

| Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search that feels like a loss to me and another year of waiting to get a qb. Even if those picks turn out to be good players, we wont get anywhere without a good qb and i personally dont trust Flynn, the man has hardly played at all! We are just wasting what talent we do have on our roster and by the time we get a qb they will be old and need to be replaced. i really think we need to get RG3 or else we will just be floundering once again next season and watching his highlight reels on another team.

| Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search I know CB is a need, but I hate the fact that once again we would take a defensive player. I still don't think we will have a defense that would carry the team, even with a top flight CB on board, because of our inept offense.

I vehemently disagree with your post. Shanahan is the first coach in a long time that's coming in here and rebuilding this franchise the right way. Of course there were some misses, but there isn't a single organization that doesn't make mistakes. I remember this board clamoring when McNabb was brought in and the move heavily praised by fans. Shannahan stated that his focus was on the defense and switching a 4-3 to a 3-4. Our defense went from 31st last season to 13th this season. If we improve our secondary I see this defense being formidble for many years to come. Especially as the players continue to understand the 3-4 and we get players built for the type of scheme we're running. In addition, Shanahan throughout his career has had succesful offenses. I think we see an emphasis on building a potent offense in DC and I have no doubt he is capable of doing that. He didn't get fired in Denver because his offense wasn't producing. His defense was absolutely pathetic. It takes time to rebuild a team. While Griffin is a great prospect, he isn't a sure thing. Can you imagine giving up 4-6 fairly high picks for a player and not have him pan out? I can imagine it now. Fans and media crucifying Shanahan for such a 'stupid move.' If going up to get RGIII is affordable, then I'm all for it -- but if it will cost the farm, stay put or move back and continue to build the entire team. As I said in another thread. I could see us going after an FA QB such as Flynn. Blackmon or Floyd (hopefully Blackmon) in the 1st, then Foles/Tannehill in the 2nd. I want to see Washington build a perrenial winner. I'm fine taking some lumps in order to get both a scheme and young personnel established. took the 31st ranked defense to the 13th ranked defense

| Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search You know how many Skins fans are going to be borderline suicide come draft day if Shanahan doesn't move up to get RGIII and drafts a CB at the #6 spot?....lol I imagine prozac sales will skyrocket in the DC area.

The Shannhans have done nothing to prove that can acquire, draft, or develop an elite QB. I'm tired of everyone making excuses for the Shannhans ineptitude. I'm actually more pissed that we didn't get Jake Locker last year, someone who we could of dealt for and landed. Now we're going to have to "settle" for whatever 2nd rate QB is out there since the Shannahans are incapable of getting a true franchise QB. | |
