| Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search Hmmm, from the sound of it my best guess would be a free agent QB. It doesn't make sense to say that about a QB we would have to draft. |

If we won't know until the draft that would more then Likely mean a drafted QB. Unless its a trade involving draft picks. Which would mean the QB is not a FA. So either look at non FA's the Skins would be interested in or guess which QB in the draft it is. Could it be that they will be or are working with Weeden they like what they see? Is there already a trade scenario in place to get RGIII? Or are we trading for someone else's hand me down? | |

If a deal with Indy for Luck is in place, which I doubt because they need a young QB to rebuild around as much as we do, then it could not be announced until the start of the league year in mid-March, at the earliest. I know the article said it would be announced at the Draft. I'm just stating the earliest a trade could be announced. I certainly hope that we're not going to acquire Peyton Manning in a trade, as great as he is, because his neck injury makes me way too nervous for that. | Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search Matty's post under the News: Throwing around ideas for the Redskins in the NFL Draft | John Keim | Cheers & Jeers | Washington Examiner I personally thought the article was way to short, and didn't id needs, other scenarios, and other possible later picks. I'm not hiding the fact I want the B&G to trade back for more picks. The following article says nothing as well. Unless we signed someone to the squad already that no one has heard of. The assumption is we already have this QB onboard. Heard at Lunch: The Redskins Have Chosen a New Quarterback - Capital Comment Blog (washingtonian.com) It's all conjecture, speculation, and guessing. Just like looking at SS's posts.

| Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search The Redskins should just name Andrew Luck their starter for the 2012 season, and then just see what happens.

I thought it was interesting in the Irsay interview yesterday with ESPN that he said they would pick Luck or Griffin. I'm wondering if there is a plan afoot where Manning is healthy so they pick Griffin who may benefit from sitting behind Manning for a couple of yrs and also a plan to do the obvious and draft Luck if Manning is cut. Scenario that was alluded to may be a deal with St. Louis to go up to get Luck if Griffin is off the board at 1.

| Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search i dont see how we could already have an agreement in place with the colts for the #1 overall pick. Even if the colts were open to trading the pick, theyd be fools to do so this far in advance of the draft.

| Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search This may very well be what will happen. Many people here have speculated that the Rams will take perhaps a WR weapon for Bradford but I could swear I heard that not only do they need a weapon but they will need a Tackle because their's is retiring. I was pretty sure I heard that. they might be thinking that they could let someone like the Skins trade up so they get more picks and yet still get the OL they want in the draft or the next best if there are two pretty close in talent. |
