Yea I hear you but I was still clinging. Maybe I just missed it but I heard that stuff mentioned by others but not actually straight from his mouth until today.

There is zero to gain at all for a top-level QB to throw. The only thing it could do is diminish their prospects. I mean they're top-level because everyone has seen them play and knows what they are capable of. They can't be "hiding" anything because they just finished a college football season where they showed how awesome they are. What happens when they go to the combine and tweak an oblique and can't get the ball down the field? I mean they can't possibly show anything physically to further their prospects. There is nothing to be gained. They do go to Indy to talk and interview as Matty said because that is the stuff that watching them play doesn't show.

That would be awesome. Too early to put all our eggs (hopes) into that basket just yet though...

Excellent article. I loved this quote:

Also highlights a key difference between the Redskins of old and the Redskins of today. Even in this day and age, agents will use the Redskins' name to drum up bidding wars for their players as a result of our past history. But the reality is Shanny/Allen will take the explore all options/leave the bidding war route instead of getting caught up in the hype of a player as in years' past.

To sum up, it's nice to know we have competent execs in charge.

It would be significant step in the right directions for our hopes of trading up, but this early in the game, especially with it just being initial rumors, it could be a Paul Pierce pump fake so don't leave your feet just yet...

Disappointing fo' sho but a closed door opens another one. Meaning even though we can't have Bradford, it's almost 100% guaranteed the Rams would be willing to trade down. And even if we don't trade up with them, we can still go to the Browns at 3 if RG3 is available.

What is the difference between Colt McCoy and Matt Flynn that would cause the Browns to go after him?

Griffin is bigger, faster and stronger than McCoy. Brandt’s evaluation of Griffin is very high. Unlike draft analysts working for ESPN and the NFL Network, Brandt is not using this forum to advise the Browns on how to use their draft picks.

“Colt is 6-foot-1,” Brandt said. “Maybe he’s not as big as you want him to be, but the guy’s won games. That’s what you have to see. The quarterback is so important in our game today that if you put enough good players around him he’s going to win

Only thing I can even think of is that they evaluate Flynn as the guy they want McCoy to become. But the truth is that McCoy is probably already better than Flynn, and if you move Flynn from the Packers offense to the Browns, you are going to condense Matt Flynn into NFL oblivion.

And I'm sure a smart team FO that includes Mike Holmgren know this.
Heck, Holmgren practically evented the whole flipping the late round QB pump and dump scam that Reid and now McCarthy are duplicating.
Maybe scam is a bit harsh because some of the late round QBs that Holmgren developed became good NFL QBs.

I don't know if I'd call Cleveland a smart FO, I kind of lump them in with the Redskins in terms of general aptitude. Maybe that's just a perception problem. I guess they were smart enough to get McCoy in the third round.

I actually think scam is a good word because they proved that it's easy to mess with people's perception of quarterbacks. I would argue that generally speaking, the public -- and even a lot of pro talent evaluators -- don't really know what they are looking for in quarterbacks, so they fall back on meaningless stuff like intangibles and quarterback wins. And those that hold the magic beans simply are in the business of finding the right buyer. I'm looking at you, Rod Graves.

Somtimes i get the feeling that we may do a trade up for RGIII and make an offer to Manning. I know it sounds crazy but anything can happen.
