Big fan of this. A 30-something coach who won 10 games as a HC just one year ago season comes in to coach the secondary? That's called a win.

Re: Raheem Morris to the Redskins

Don't know what to think about this. Morris did a really crappy job of coaching his team last season. He's also totally overqualified to be a DB's coach at this point in his career.

Our current DBs don't really lend themselves to coaching, necessarily. Barnes and Westbrook are going to be in contract years. Everyone else is a veteran. I guess the validity of this move depends on who the Redskins bring in at defensive back.

I'd keep an eye on Tanard Jackson. Allen drafted him and Morris has coached him every year he's been in the league.

I would tend to think its the opposite, that the Skns want to try and get more out of what they have.

Re: Raheem Morris to the Redskins

I'm happy for this signing. Morris is really gonna help make our secondary better. He did well in his first season as a HC with his team getting 19 picks, 19 the year before, and 22 the year before that. They also had the top passing defense in 2007 once he came back as a DB Coach. We will definitely have more picks this coming year, especially if we bring in a couple of corners and have a consistently healthy LL and OA.

Speaking of coaches, anyone else worried about Matt LaFleur? I mean, is he the one to groom a young QB if we draft one?

I am. I'm not a fan of his. I don't see any reason to keep him...

He did help Kyle with Schaub in Houston. But even still, we should let him go only if we can get someone out there that can DEFINITELY get the job done WHEN we get a young qb.

Yeah I would add Schaub as a plus and Beck as a negative to his resume. Rex? Hard to say, he might of gotten the best out of Rex.

And possibly his qb (Flynn).

Yeah, I'd love Flynn with either his GB QB coach, offensive coordinator, or players lol

Morris has never even been a DC, nor has he been a coach for a 3-4. I don't think Haslett has anything to worry about. I like Morris but it's not like he's going to turn D.Hall into Darrell Green.
