So they let go of KM? Why? How about they get rid of the guy calling the plays? How about we get rid of the guy that thinks Grossman and Beck at legit NFL QB's. Oh wait. That can't happen cause Mike would never fire his son, nor would he fire himself. Guess he needed a scapegoat. lol.

If the B&G do draft for the secondary, I hope they trade back, way back and pick up some major draft steals as well! Great hire of Morris!

I'd love for us to bring in Ray Sherman if he's available but I don't think he is.

man you are really angling for the Grumpy Gergory award. You don't seem to like ANYTHING that this regime does. You don't have to be blindly optimistic but damn dude, it gets tiresome seeing nothing but relentless negativity.

Withholding judgment = relentless negativity. Such is life in Redskinsland.

For the record, the Tampa Bay Bucs lost their last 10 games this year under Morris' stewardship.

Four losses this year were by 28 points or more.

Bucs gave up 494 points this year - - most in the NFL. The next worst scoring defense gave up 45 points less than the Bucs did.

Many observers believed that the team quit sometime around early December.

I like the move and think it's great. I'm sure he'll do a good job. Let's hope he can get D-hall from playing 15 yards off the WR and play more up on the line and use his speed to stay stride for stride instead of sitting back and jumping on passes.

This was his title:

2009–2011 Tampa Bay Buccaneers
(head coach/defensive coordinator)

Hopefully, the first he does is get rid of D. Hall.

Re: Raheem Morris to the Redskins

Told you guys Keenan and Jackson were headed out. Morris could still leave if someone names him defensive coordinator, which probably explains why Slowik is still there

What is funny is that I don't remember anyone during the season saying "the Redskins need to upgrade their secondary coach." Raheem Morris is a relatively big name for a position coach. But I also don't remember people saying, "the Redskins don't have enough 'name' coaches on the staff."

At no point next year will I be able to judge Raheem Morris on the quality of his work here. Neither will anyone else. I hope he does really well. But we'll probably never know what kind of effect he is having on the players' lives, without having that personal connection with the players.

If you find that analysis to be negative, you can just block me now.

Re: Raheem Morris to the Redskins

I don't mind the Morris hiring, I just wanted someone different to coach the secondary. Hopefully Morris is a better position coach than head coach and we get something out of that unit. Don't know how to feel about KM being let go, I mean how can you evaluate your receivers when you have sh*t at the QB position. But then again there were dropped passes here there, so who knows. Maybe some change in that area will help. Still, this team needs a QB, and you can bring all the assistants you want, it won't mean squat if you don't have a decent QB behind center.

I'm like tripp in many ways, I always get cautious over moves the skins make simply because we suck and have for 20 years now.. he and I are about the same age and have never seen a winner in dc so u have to understand our pain

Preach. The qb position is vital to the team's success. We won't be anything without a quality one.

And thats what Morris offers: a different voice to a struggling position group.

If you believe we're in need of a different voice, then it's a good move, right? If you believe that the Redskins can't have enough continuity in the coaching staff, then it's a bad move, right? I'm not surprised that the concept of continuity hasn't come up in this thread, as it's become a self-serving argument over the years.
