| Re: Mike Lombardi Links Kyle Orton to the Redskins No, we brought Rex in to back up McNabb and then got stuck in a corner when DMac5 didn't work out.

| Re: Mike Lombardi Links Kyle Orton to the Redskins we went into last year with Grossman and Beck. that is horrible either way and they went with Grossman to start the season. I would understand this if we would have drafted a QB last year but we didnt. |

We didn't draft a QB anywhere in the entire draft; not even a late round flier on a developmental guy like TJ Yates or Tyrod Taylor. We didn't trade for a QB. Then we signed Rex Grossman.

| Re: Mike Lombardi Links Kyle Orton to the Redskins I agree. And I wish we had availed ourselves of other options. I was just responding to a statement which said that we brought Wrecks in specifically to start.

| Re: Mike Lombardi Links Kyle Orton to the Redskins I think the only reason the FO didn't bring in someone new is that they new there was no reason to waste resources on a QB when there was not much in terms of talent to work with yet. Add in the lockout, and that is why we saw what we did last year with the QB position. Orton is better than any QB currently on the Skins, and is an upgrade over Grossman hands down.

You can say there wasn't much talent but the talent that we did have was held back to substandard level of QB play. Every team was in the same boat last offseason yet other teams made better choices at the QB. Quote:

| Re: Mike Lombardi Links Kyle Orton to the Redskins You see it that way, I see it as when the signed him last year after the lock out he was going to be the starter. |

| Re: Mike Lombardi Links Kyle Orton to the Redskins Ok, fair enough. I was talking about our acquisition of Wrecks in the first place because of the difference between "bring in" and "re-sign."

| Re: Mike Lombardi Links Kyle Orton to the Redskins I am not an Orton fan. I could have lived with him going into last year BUT my meaning was somewhat of a rationalization for the FO. At the same time I can see why they would not want to give away a draft pick for KO. Also I can see why they would not want to add him in the middle of the year after he was waived. I could also see Orton not being in the plans and this is just some rumor. You never know. I also can't imagine Orton would be plan A.

| Re: Mike Lombardi Links Kyle Orton to the Redskins I second this thought. Why sign K.Orton when he would spend the off season learning a new offense. Might as well resign Rex and draft a QB in the 2nd rd if we cannot draft RGIII. I know Grossman isnt the long time solution but at least he can run our offense until our Rookie gets a grasp on the offense. Orton may take care of the ball more but that doesnt mean he would produce more wins if he became our starter. Rather keep Rex until we have a better option.

| Re: Mike Lombardi Links Kyle Orton to the Redskins I rather bring back Jason Campbell then sign K.Orton. I dont see either one of these signings happening for the Redskins.
