No way, at least not this season.

And other reports were Manning was getting better and better , just depends on who tells the story.

I consider Jake Q as up to date on all things Manning as anyone out there.

Because those of us fans who use common sense understand PM or no PM the team can still draft whoever they want as QB because PM does not effect draft picks.

But it doesn't matter... we suck. (<sarcasm)

Then Poillon came out saying that was all BS and that he has witnessed PM making all the throws but no farther then 25yrds.

Believe what everyone wants.

15 yds, 25 yds...whatever, that's a long ways from 40 yds and 50 yds on a rope.

I just don't see it as a good fit for either party that is just my opinion. I am NOT trying to get everyone pissed off I am just saying how I feel.
when you get down to it, his only other options are:

Minnesota (no cap room, no proven coach, no idea whats going to happen to the franchise over the next couple years)

Miami (brand new coach who has no credentials worth mentioning - hes not going there)

arizona (they honestly cant afford him)

san francisco (they claim to be committed to smith plus they are on the west coast which is not mannings preference)

houston (hardly any cap room, would build ill-will to fans by going to a division rival, and theyve gone on record saying theyre not interested)

manning is a better fit than most people realize. as others have pointed out, washington would attract manning for alot of reasons - we're a big market team on the east coast, which is where manning reportedly wants to play. manning is a competitor so the opportunity to play his brother twice a year will be a big plus for him (not the negative many say). weve got a solid coaching staff and a coach who has proven succcess. shanahan gave elway tons of freedom. the only reason he's developed a reputation for putting so much emphasis on his system is because he hasnt had a QB worth anything in recent years.

The only real competition i see is from the jets or from a team that would shock almost everyone...

new orleans. his dad played there. its in a dome. theyre a contender already. and they have been noteably uninterested in resigning brees. I wouldnt bet on Manning ending up there, but we shouldnt dismiss it. Its a natural fit and would seem to be the perfect place for manning to close out his career.

We can't build a team with FA's, haven't we learned this in the past. Sign 2 FA's MAX that are coming in here to start from another team. 2 is the max, anything more than that and we'll look like the eagles of last year.

our problem in the past was using our cap space by trading draft picks for players and overpaying for over the hill veterans on the decline with character concerns. theres nothing wrong with signing free agents and we have to spend the cap room somehow. No one could complain if we signed manning and spent money on some solid o-linemen and on high character, solid, FA WRs like Wayne, Colston, Garcon.

how many big name free agents did the giants sign this offseason? 1 David Baas. How many did the eagles sign? 9, and where we're they? No where near the playoffs. Both those teams draft well.

I have to agree with this. Our options are very thin. I would like to bring in Saturday if Peyton signs. Monty would benefit greatly from him and we would have a solid back up at guard/center.
