| Re: Bountygate Punishment for the Saints Wow...just wow. I mean I guess message heard is all that anyone can say. I assume there will be appeals. And I assume they all go to the commissioner. Talk about a death sentence almost. |

| Re: Bountygate Punishment for the Saints Why do people think this is harsh? Sure a year long suspension is severe but for basically 'lack of institutional control' and then subsequently lying to the league about it. Under Roger 'The Hammer' Goodell, the punishment is just about what could be expected. Gregg Williams (2nd G is for GONE) may be done as an NFL coach for the time being. He's going to probably miss at least a season and a half. Don't know how he could get the same as Payton since he was running the bounty program. Also, Goodell couldn't come back with a soft punishment after he's been drilling the players for the past 2 years. This was a severe, but just punishment.

I'm kinda surprised that some are taken back by the decision. Sean Payton was reportedly only ready for a 4 game suspension? What was he thinking?

| Re: Bountygate Punishment for the Saints People should have learned that back with Pacman and Vick. Both lied and both got the hammer.

| Re: Bountygate Punishment for the Saints Will the Rams be able to hire another D coordinator or do they need to fire Williams first? and if so do you think we are in danger of losing Raheem Morris for the job?

| Re: Bountygate Punishment for the Saints Roger Goodell has lost his mind. These suspensions are too harsh. The cap penalties on the Cowboys and Redskins was too harsh. Under Goodell's watch the game is getting weaker and weaker. The defense is penalized heavily. What used to be a form tackle now is unnecessary roughness. You can't hit a quarterback. You can't hit a wide receiver coming across the middle. They might as well eliminate tackling and give the guys flags. Instead of the National Football League (NFL), it should be the National Flag Football League (NFFL). Williams should not have paid bounties to injure players but these penalties are going to cripple the Saints. What about the fans. Their team is going to suck. It hurts the Rams because they won't have a defensive coordinator. Goodell hasn't even decided how he is going penalize the players. The Saints might not have a team. What about Williams former teams. Are the Bills and Redskins going to be penalized. This reeks!

You think we should get compensation for the Saints losing draft picks? Call me crazy but I highly doubt that. I think the best scenario is we don't end up paying the rest of the fine next year. We're not getting free draft picks, and if we are they won't be as high as the 2nd or 1st round.
