Our defense is terrible. Perhaps the coaching sucks, I don't know. What I do know is that we don't have good talent on d and our coaching, good or bad, can't change that. I guess more accurately we don't have good enough talent in th secondary and we dont get good enough push up the middle to take advantage of our good lb play.

I honestly can't figure out what's wrong with the defense this year. They're basically the same defense from last year save a few moves here and there. But somehow we've gone from 13th ranked last year to currently 28th.

If you recall, this defense was around 30th the year before...weve got serious problems with not much hope on defense unless something significant changes, such as scheme, coaching, or talent...and that is hard to change midseason...but in yr 3, we should be holding teams under 20 pts easy...if we did, wed be undefeated. Yes but even with orakpo and kerrigan our d is sooo much worse than last year. I mean landry never played and atogwe stunk. Why is the d so terrible?

Well they are replacement refs, there should be a replacement fines. lol. Cheaper since they are not the actual refs. lol.

I don't give a crap if we have a top 10 defense with a Carlos Rodgers who cant catch a pick....those teams kept teams under 20 points...that is basic.

We got a pick today for 7 points...but we gave up 38....that is net 31 points against them and that flat out sucks...the only hope is if we continue to suck bad so we can change coordinators...we have no top draft picks for 2 years and no cash...so the only significant changes we can make is coaching...and I have always been concerned about Haslet...even when I heard we were signing him.
Danny Smith is also suspect...but would Shanny pull the plug if they continue to suck mid season??....unlikely

The problem with the defense is that Shanahan and Allen (and Haslett) have signed a crap ton of bad players and due to age and cap, none of the defensive players from the Gibbs/Williams era are here anymore. Carriker's injury was bad luck. As was Jenkins last year. Orakpo's was probably a mixture of bad luck and hard headed-ness on multiple parties.

But the fact that Madieu Williams, DeAngelo Hall, Cedric Griffin, Richard Crawford, and Dejon Gomes are key pieces of the 2012 Redskins is a design flaw, not the result of good strategy/bad results.
