They can always franchise him if they can't work out a deal. I doubt they let him get away.

I agree. Looks like he is "just a guy", but sometimes change of scenery helps, and some NE fans seemed to think he was finally getting it before he got hurt. Extra bodies in the middle of the line are a must for the grind of the preseason, and while I like Neild, if Brace steps up, that is only good for the team.

Yup. And if Brace doesn't step up and gets cut, no big deal.

Besides, Brace a big blob! Just what you want in a NT.

Apparently Charles Woodson is being released. What does everyone think about looking at him? Maybe he'd be willing to sign for less money because he's been sort of injury prone in the last few seasons.

I prefer youth, but won't hate the signing. He's been injured a LOT recently.

I heard ( radio ) , that NE drafted Brace as a NT , but now play more 4-3 and Brace is not a DE or DT ? If Brace can give us 15 - 20 snaps / game , it would be a nice signing .

Re: 2013 Free Agents

Well, maybe/maybe not. The guy breaking the news about Young being cut and out of football is Robert Parker - the same guy who called RGIII a "cornball brother". He is not exactly a bastion of reliable reporting.

Quote:
Parker is now writing for a website called The Shadow League, and he reported there that Young would be cut and may never play football again. Parker isn’t known for breaking news, but he does live and work in Detroit, so he may have a connection with Young, who has played for the Lions for two years.
Rams won’t comment on report Titus Young will be cut | ProFootballTalk

Rams are refusing to comment so I would just wait and see on this one.

But, yes, one way or another I burger flipping in Mr. Young's future ... and I bet he better than Megatron at it.

Titus has officially been cut. When asked by the media Jeff fisher said that Titus is a hell of a player that they didn't need. BS lol

Re: 2013 Free Agents

Charles Woodson is getting up there in years, but his leadership is undeniable and he's spent recent time in the safety spot where we are pretty desperate. I suspect that the team passes if there's anyone else that is reasonably within its sights either as a draft or a free agent prospect. I admit that a CB tandem of Crawford and Wilson and a safety tandem of Woodson and Merriweather (assuming D. Hall is released for cap reasons) is intriguing. But I don't see this front office doing that -- we seem pretty focused on youth at the moment.

Re: 2013 Free Agents

Woodson got cut today as well as Freeney from the Colts. Both players are getting up in years and how much the team would have to pay them since their age is an issue and factor.

But they still have a couple of years left in them the way that they are still playing well.

For a reasonable price, I would have no problem with Woodson. On the other hand, I just don't see how Freeney fits in. He seems to me to be a straight up 4-3 DE. He was a talented guy in his day, but just not someone who would be much of a help to us.
