Ill start believing a rumor when it's not a RUMOR Till then, i'm just going to enjoy the game this Sunday and the rest of the season.
Well I guess the difference is I believe what this LL dude is reporting is true. Partly..because what he is saying doesn't seem that farfetched considering the way we've been playing and previous reports about Hasletts relationship with Fletch among others...and a big part has to do with Smoots opinion of this guy. As far as numbers...3-6...losing to the 1-6 Panthers at home etc. Those are my reasons for regarding his statements more than "rumors". On that note... I hope we both enjoy the game Sunday.

Im pretty sure that nobody would be happy with loses. I dont doubt that people are unhappy with Shanahan and Haslett because I am too, but hes not getting fired at the end of the year. He said 5 years and its been 2.5. I want to win too but when you tell a guy hes allowed this much time then try to shit on his face because hes not there yet..

Well its just typical Redskins nation.

Mike Lombardi sure didn't sound optimistic about the skins on the radio blog. Future looks bleak due to cap space and the amount of holes to fix.

To the contrary, showing Shanny the door indicates a franchise serious about getting on the right track and winning. And RG3 will attract coaching talent regardless. In fact I think potential HCs will jump at the opportunity, exactly the opposite what you believe.
Actually I never stated my belief in whether a coach would want to come here or not, but since you asked (not really but dickishly implying you knew my opinion on the matter will suffice), I think there are a ton of coaches who would embrace coaching this team. Snyder's money, coaching in a major market, the ability to coach RG3, the landscape of the division (2 declining & aging teams, 1 consistently mediocre team) and the rare opportunity to be an NFL head coach isn't something many would turn down.

What I believe is that Snyder is not going to make a move at the head coaching position this year absent us losing the remainder of our games in a devastating manner. As much as you're gonna hate it, a rookie QB, a young roster and major injuries to key personnel will be more than enough to buy MS another season (at least) at the helm.

Some are wanting it that way. Sorry, I might of worded my sentence a bit wrong. I wasn't assuming he's getting fired. I was responding to the 35 pages of the same people who want him to BE fired.. I'm just trying to inform them that in my opinionated and most excellent professional response.. That he wont be fired.

There... That's better

Hey new topic. Do you think the insiders at ESPN and NFLN know about the strife within the Redskins organization? If so, why don't they report it?

I'm not suggesting they should, in fact I wouldn't agree with it, but still curious...if you feel like sharing

Alright I'm admittedly confused. What were you referring to or implying with respect to replacing Shanahan?

Goat, I don't really know people at NFLN and I haven't talked to anyone at ESPN about it so I don't really know

Sorry, wrong side.

Your implication that I believed nobody would want to come here to coach is incorrect. I believe he won't get fired but that has nothing to do with the allure of our job.

I had made a comment about Snyder staying out of football issues with the current regime and he Pain said "not if he fires Shanny after year three". Which might or might not be true depending on how they spin it. Anyway i believe that is where the confusion started.

Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?

So to fully clarify:
I think if Shanny is fired it will be perceived as 'same old Redskins/meddling Snyder.
If that happens, it won't deter anyone from seriously considering the head coaching job.

I hate bye weeks.

Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?

On last night's blogtalk radio, they were saying Haslett and Slowick are gone when the season ends. The possible DC candidates (if they get fired by their current teams) are Rivera or Crennel. Most preferred Rivera.

Rivera would be awesome. Shanny gonna depart from Slowick? That would be great, Slowick been with him a pretty long time.
