| Re: Has the team mailed it in? (If so, why?) I've yet to see any specific examples that point to players giving up. I think we have a solid locker room full of guys that care about playing hard and wouldn't do such a thing. I think too often fans confuse losing with players not trying hard enough. I think we're just outgunned. Injuries have piled up and taken their toll on both sides of the ball. |

| Re: Has the team mailed it in? (If so, why?) Yeah, back off the ledge people. Allen and Shanahan have done a pretty good job of turning over Gibbs' absolutely dreadful roster. We're getting a few players under the age of 30 on the squad, and we're turning it around. It's going to take time to build quality depth and get the chemistry going. We've all seen how succesful changing coaches every three years can be. Give someone a chance to build a real team in DC. We have a ways to go, but we don't have the depth to deal with injuries like the top tier teams. We lost our top WR, top TE, RT, Top pass rusher, and solid DL. Hard to keep going through that. We had holes before that, now we really have holes.

Sure it's been disappointing this year but the guys haven't mailed it in. Our recent struggles are a result of a talent gap (largely depth related) in certain areas, some flawed defensive schemes and some unfortunate circumstances in the offseason. Especially against the Giants and Pittsburgh, we don't have the talent across the board to match up. Yesterday was a bad loss to a bad team that should resonate to those in charge that the roster is far from a finished product but to say the entire team outside of a select few has mailed it in isn't true.

| Re: Has the team mailed it in? (If so, why?) I won't say the players "mailed it in", but I will say they have lost confidence in the coaches and system. Also, our culture is one where failure/losing are acceptable. For example, penalties, dropped balls, missed assignments....nothing happens to any of these guys, no accountability. How do you enforce accountability when the OC (who has been bad for 3yrs.) has no concern for his job security? Enough is enough. If I'm Snyder, I can get the same results for a whole hell of a lot less than $ 7M / yr. On top of all this, the Shannys are stunting RG3's development. This gimmickly college read option BS isn't developing RG3 into a Brees or A. Rodgers type QB. RG3 is extremely bright and accurate, stop holding the young man back and let him play the NFL game....will his Comp % drop, yes. Will he be far better long term, absolutely.

If Garçon and Davis were both healthy, I think we'd see a slightly more traditional offense but dropping back and expecting Hankerson, Robinson and Paulsen to consistently win their matchups and develop a passing rhythm is a recipe for getting RG3 killed in the pocket.

| Re: Has the team mailed it in? (If so, why?) Yeah and that's not the type of giving up we're talking about obviously. The refs really blew that call. Once the whistle blows the play is supposed to be dead. That was a replacement refs type of call. |

| Re: Has the team mailed it in? (If so, why?) Dan Snyder's last football decision was to get rid of Cerratto and hire Bruce Allen who hired Mike Shanahan and who has the power to fire Mike Shanahan. But Bruce Allen won't do it. Allen is the one who fired Zorn after Zorn went 12-20. Now Shanahan has won 24 games and has lost 27. But I doubt if Bruce Allen fires him. |

| Re: Has the team mailed it in? (If so, why?) I don't think anybody is mailing it in, but it's obvious the defensive players either don't believe in the system (haslett doesn't so not sure why they would) or just simply that terrible. Don't think they've been the same since Cruz put that dagger in their hearts.

I don't mind the RO every once in a while, but let RG3 work out of gun in a traditional NFL passing O more. Our WRs are good enough to get open vs. Zone and are good enough to beat press. Especially with MS throwing in the towel on the season, open the O up and let RG3 learn.
