Smoot To Dallas??

I've wanted to keep Smoot, but if he ends up in Dallas, I say screw him.

sorry man i would have to disagree with you on that one. You can get any MLB between Washington and Arrington and they will look decent. Without Smoot we are missing a piece of the heart of our team even if we get Rolle to replace him. If we sign Smoot and not Pierce we still have a shot with Barrow plus we have some young guys who could be the next Pierce like Clifton Smith. Also there are some good FA MLB's out there specifically Hartwell that I wouldn't mind having.

Maybe Marshall will slide to MLB if Pierce doesnt resign. And if he is healthy we still have Barrow.

The ESPN list was compiled by Pastabelly. Probably did it to screw with skins fans. The fat POS.

Gibbs has been sounding pretty optimistic about Smoot lately. We'll see! It's 11:24 PM on the night of March 1st...

the FA MLBs are going to be cheaper than rolle (who's the only corner i'd really look at.. law is older and more expensive, very recently injured etc)... i think pierce is mroe of a system player, but its our system and he obviously knows it VERY well, so i think he'd be more important in keeping the D rolling, even though smoot is a better player.... CB in williams defense (which none of the FA MLBs know, but rolle does) is very simple.... cover your guy, and don't expect any help...

if he even negotiates with Dallas I say screw 'em. a real redskins would never even think about using the cowpies as contract leverage.

true but how much did he negotiate. he will be in fedex next year will it be in burgondy and gold or some ugly shade of blue w/ the cowboys, giants, or seahalks?

ESPN Insider Reports the following from March 1st, contrary to what Pasta has to say:

Mar. 1 - Smoot has been mentioned as a possibility for the Jets, but the free-agent cornerback might not being going anywhere, writes Michael Wilbon of The Washington Post. If the Redskins have ended their pursuit of free-agent CB Samari Rolle, as some reports indicate, conventional wisdom suggests they must find a way to re-sign Smoot. "It all depends on where the numbers fall," a source told The Post. Smoot is reportedly seeking a $14 million signing bonus, which is about $4 million more than the Redskins appear willing to spend.

It only lists the Jets and Redskins as main possibilities.
