Re: Giants at Redskins Post Game Thread This is what Jaws had to say about our defense today on PTI. Wilbon: We don't talk about the Redskins defense much Jaws, but what did they do to Eli Manning, cuz this wasn't entirely RG3. The Redskins defense had a hand in this. Jaws: Mike you're absolutely right and I'm glad we're talking about that Redskins defense. You know when you lose Orakpo and Carriker, two dominant players in the NFL, you gotta do some things differently. You gotta scheme your defense and that's exactly what Haslett's done. They rushed eleven different players at Eli Manning on Monday night, and I have never seen Eli as confused in the pre-snap phase. He struggled against a well-designed defense that executed well against the Giants. So some props for Jim Haslett.

Good point man - hadnt looked at it that way but yes - he was watching Griff run for his life and realized the safeties were gonna peel back and it would have been a td for sure had Griff seen it.

We need to get hits on the QB. WE NEED SACKS. We need BETTER COVERAGE. I personally think the Giants just beat themselves on Monday. They were driving on us from one end of the field all the way to the red zone and their drives would either result in a field goal, or would be an incomplete off the finger tips pass, to force a punt. Haslett still needs to go at the end of the year. And like I said, our offense is now our defense, because we've gotten so good teams are going to try what the Giants did; long drive to keep our offense off the field.

Re: Giants at Redskins Post Game Thread Giants are a one of the more inconsistent offenses in the league. Looking great one half and then bad the other. Then looking like the best team in the NFL and then looking terrible. They go game to go game looking completely different. Still the defense did not allow touchdowns but they also allowed the giants to hold the ball a ridiculous portion of the first half. A good defensive coordinator gets their team off the field on 3rd and 10's.

Im not saying we dont fire Haslett at end of season, but gotta give the guy credit. The defense is playing better with limited talent.

Re: Giants at Redskins Post Game Thread The second half was a lot better but the Giants have been playing like that the entire year. Inconsistent. Awful one week or play like they are the greatest team in the NFL. Like the Tampa Bay game. Awful one half great the next, Cincinnati they looked awful but then they crush the Packers. They score 16 on philly and lose the game and then beat down the 49ers. Defense did a good job for one half, I just would not get too excited and think now we have a capable defense.
