The pistol only works so well because of rg3. With Cousins, it is probably no more effective running out of that formation than any other.

Why is that? Because RG3 can run faster the Cousins? You do realize that there are more threats from that formation..

Most of the big pass plays from that formation come because Morris eats chunks from the defense and the LB's bite up. It'll work just as good with Cousins. Who is still pretty damn quick.

I figured our pistol scheme was rg3 exclusive. I just don't see any qb on our roster but him being effective in that formation. I expect a lot of screens and short passes, but no pistol.

Maybe you're right, and they've put that in the gameplan. I just think the D will get to kc too fast in the pistol. Cousins might be quick enough to pull it off, but I suspect rg3 is making it look much much easier than it actually is.

Despite their middle of the pack rush D, I don't know if Morris will be gashing them like our other opponents b/c the de's/lb's aren't going to respect kc like they respect rg3... Still hope he has a big day though, we need him. I actually think Cousins will show his leadership and have a big game throwing it, but not because LB's are biting on the zone read.

Well said, I have seen nothing that will make me think that we won't be productive today. Remember, Shanahan taylored the offense to fit RG3, I am sure he is doing the same for KC. I dont expect a blow out, but a competitive back and forth game, I hope the momentum that the team has built carries them through! Hail!
