Re: Are you buying into the Shanaplan?

I'm in shock as to what this team was immediately after the Panthers game to what they are now. I'm still leaning towards Mike Shanahan really thought they're season was over at that press conference ''the evaluation conference'' as we'll call it.

It'll be fun to see how this team plays in the playoffs and into next year.

When people were calling for him to be fired I was wondering why. The Redskins losses this year except for two were all close losses.

But regardless of where the Redskins end up after clinching the division, you have to give credit and props to Shanahan.
I'm glad that you've stepped up to take credit. All hail REDSKINS4ever, the almighty foreseer of things to come! May he replace the disgraced Gtripp with dignity and honor.

I am glad you see the ridiculousness in this thread.

GTRIPP, You aren't a fan of Mike and I actually don't hate u for that. Everyone has their opinion but for anyone to say Tripp is not a true skins fan is ridiculous. The guy has been on here for a while and he's just someone who has to see it to believe it that's fine. How many of us thought we would win 7 in a row? Or how many of us cussed Mike and Kyle and JH after losing to sorry Carolina?? Shit happens. Thank God we are 10-6 @and champions again!

I just wanted to give REDSKINS4ever the credit he deserves for his never-wavering support of Mike Shanahan. He was the single driving force that held together the supporters of the Shanaplan this season. Kudos is in order.

/Serious note

I don't always agree with your opinions but I respect you for being consistent with them. The difference between me and everyone else is sometimes I prefer to hold my tongue. I also do not believe that you don't enjoy seeing this team have success, which is what some other members believe apparently.

For crying out loud enjoy the win everyone. Who really cares what anyone thinks of Shanahan? Were all Skins fans.
For two and a half years the Skins lost alot of games, and by LL's own account even the organization was referring to him as a "very expensive joke" just 7 weeks ago.
Were all thrilled about what has transpired over those seven weeks, if it makes you more thrilled to act like you were all the wiser in the "dark period" than have at it.

Re: Are you buying into the Shanaplan?

So... the plan was get younger across the board, build an offense that can run the stretch run effectively, find a franchise QB, increase scoring offense, increase takeways on defense.

Seems pretty clear to me.

Mission accomplished!

Shanahan's stunning Redskins turnaround - NFC East Blog - ESPN

Love this perspective of how talentless this team was when Shanny took over:

"Back on June 13, Shanahan sat in his office in Ashburn, Va., and pointed to a spot on the wall near his office door. It's a spot that is concealed when the door is open, but with the door closed you can see the names of dozens of players no longer on the team. The names are on the same kinds of labels Shanahan uses to arrange the neatly organized depth chart he keeps on the same wall on the other side of a mahogany bookcase and much closer to his desk. But these names of former Redskins are thrown up there haphazardly, as though he just wanted them gone but didn't have the time to dispose of them properly.

"Just look," he said, pointing to the labels. "We've cut 150 players since I got here and only one of them is starting for another team -- Carlos Rogers in San Francisco. We've got a whole new team." "

Rich Tandler ‏@Rich_TandlerCSN
Gene Smith fired for Gabbert trade w/Shanny. Heckert fired for getting beaten by Shanny on RG3 trade. Interesting.

Re: Are you buying into the Shanaplan?

Not gloating but I've said since the offseason began that my evaluation of Shanahan started this year because of the overall job he had to do and the stunted offseasons in 2010 and 2011. So far, he's proven to do exactly what we all wanted once he got his QB and RB in place. The offense is explosive, the defense is productive and the team is the NFC East Champion.

Saw something this morning that of the QB starting yesterday, included in the 5 oldest are Romo and Eli. The future is so freaking bright in DC, we could be in line for a division run similar to what the Colts had during the Manning era.
