I disagree. No one is going to give up a #2 for a QB for whom there is so little tape. Captain Kirk needs more mileage before he can fetch a high pick.

Looks like I picked the week to give up peyote.....

Re: Cousins Value Skyrockets,Jets Fans Want Him!!

I am just not seeing the need/rush to trade him for anything less than a mind blowing multi pick offer. I am talking H.Walker type offer. ... and before you start, I know no one would do so.

He is simply to valuable to us. A very good, dirt cheap back at the most important position on the field. We trade him, RGIII goes down and we turn to ... Rex? Can you say f'd up the A?

A starting safety (Reid) for someone who may be one of the top 2 or 3 No.2 QB's in the league? No thanks - not unless we are talking about the second coming of S.Taylor. Given the style of play of our starting QB, having someone like Cousins is a must.

He signed a 3 year deal right. Hold him for 2 1/2 years then look to trade him. You want to get rid of someone lets get rid of RG1 and pick up an undrafted QB to help develope.

Unless Andy Reid and the Chiefs offer an extremely high draft pick, but I can tell you they won't offer their #1 pick this year. I might bite if they offered a 2nd this year and a 3rd the year after. Again I doubt that happens.

Watch some of Reid's highlights, he reminds me of ST, to a lesser degree.

Rookies contracts are now 4 years. Cousins has 3 more years after this year left on his rookie contract (Same as RG3).

I agree on holding onto him for at least another year if not longer.

I say pick another QB for value if they are the highest player on the board. I like that strategy.

Unless they are willing to gamble with Sanchez...
He also came in cold off the bench and threw two crucial INTs down the stretch against Atlanta, which was probably the difference in the game.

Keep him, grow him and maintain a solid #1 and #2 for a few years at least...

Too heavy on the wishful thinking?
I would just love to get 2 2nds for him. I don't care what safety we get anyone is better than Williams.

KC is a solid back up and very affordable due to the new CBA if we attempt to trade him we would have to pay a veteran back up likely more than we are currently paying KC. Some people forget we still have an 18 million entanglement next year. I don't think we can afford to pay a more expensive less quality back up.

Any thoughts of trading KC now should pretty much be tossed aside unless a Hershel Walker type deal is offered. Given Griffin's injury and style of play, KC is just about the second most valuable guy on the roster and certainly in the top 10.

Draft KC's replacement this year and again next year if we must then trade him.

Concussion, possible torn whatever, couldnt finish a couple games, knee brace. We better not trade Cousins, but develop him intensely.

Re: Cousins Value Skyrockets,Jets Fans Want Him!!

At this point, my feeling is we should keep Cousins through the end of his contract unless/until Griffin proves he can play through an entire season without injury. The way Griffin plays, and the way he stubbornly refuses to let doctors/coaches know how he's really feeling, is very risky. Griffin needs to understand that the best thing he can do for the team is protect himself long-term. If he's hurt, he needs to have the humility to recognize the team can win without him and leave the game to protect his health.

I honestly think unless he accepts the fact he's not superman, eventually hes going play hurt and then have a career ending injury, and it could happen during his rookie contract. We might need Cousins to be our long-term quarterback if Griffin doesnt learn his limits. No way should we trade him.

The future back up of course. Having a strong back up QB has been a need for us since Todd Cocktail Collins and is an essential these days. Look at the Vikings Saturday night. I guarentee in the offseason they will be looking for an experienced back up.
