Having said that I'm no great fan of exposing RG to extra hits in the option even if he lays the ball off to someone else. A lot different than college, all these guys are big, fast and mean. | |

| Well yeah or not keeping it. Point being that it makes the run game more effective.

| re: RG3 cleared to play (update) The thing with Griffin and hits, is this. He doesn't want to take them and he learns. He wants to win, yes and in college, I think he could take the hits and feel Superman'ish. But as this season has gone on, he is understanding the strength these guys are hitting at. I remember the first game he was getting popped hard because he was selling the play fake so well. Then the coaches told him to show he didn't have the ball, and now he still sells the play fake, but is very quick at letting the defenders know he doesn't have it. Next hard hit really came at Atlanta, when he cut inside instead of stepping out, you don't see him do that much any more, it seems like he always takes an angle that puts him out of bounds a step before a defender is near. After this hit, I expect to see his sliding technique improve, and his recognition of when to slide. Ultimately, his baller mentality, and his intelligence will put the two in sync, and he will protect himself better. In my opinion, we have been seeing the "speed of the nfl game" in action, because no one goes half speed against RGIII. If they do, they get burned. We know he's mobile (and that's why I like the roll outs this week), but it's hard to tell if that ligament is stretched/weakened and what a sideways impact could do. Really don't want to see him carry the ball this week, would like to see us try to win without it.

| re: RG3 cleared to play (update) I have a gut feeling that RGIII gets an easy 100 yards rushing tomorrow despite all the concern. I don't think it'll come from the option. I think all year teams stopped blitzing because if what he's done. Now w a possible knee brace I think they'll dial up the blitzes and he'll get a bunch of easy 20+ yd runs, stepping out of bounds, avoiding the blitz. I think he's healthier and faster than people will think

Maybe I'm just looking to deep in to what you know which only a coach for the Redskins would.
