So 4 straight years team Eagles hosted in home opener won SB. Dont schedule Chiefs first game next season. That would hurt

Well, I am glad you checked that last time; and BTW, Bettis and Lewis = Apples and Oranges.

If it weren't for the media, I guess no one would really know just how much of a self-centered hypocrite he really is... "my team, my teamates, god, faith, no weapon, I didn't kill anyone... hey watch me dance... it's all about me baby, do you see me, look...watch me come out of the tunnel...see ME?

Go, just GO away already.

No doubt he has been a good linebacker for many years, I guess I am just tired of it and this last year seems ever-so tiresome.

Really, how different is it? Is it just because you don't like Lewis? If I remember correctly, the media made that Super Bowl ALL about Jerome Bettis. It was even made worst by the fact that that particular Super Bowl was played in Bettis hometown.

The media is going to take a story and blow it up to get ratings. If you don't want to hear about it, then turn off the TV, Twitter, Facebook, etc., etc. The media is always going to have a Ray Lewis, Brett Favre, Peyton Manning, and a Tom Brady that they are going to go overboard in their coverage.

As NC said, however, couple of no-calls went SF way too.

Little shocked Jim Harbaugh is gonna show no class and blame the refs for the loss. That's what he basically did several times after the game. Amazing. He needs to talk about how the 49er defense got scorched the last 5 weeks of the season including playoffs.

Something I noticed last night that made me smile, Culliver got smoked in the coverage, while Rogers was pretty much shut down as usual: Bad week gets worse for 49ers Culliver - SFGate

Come on guys. That last no-call was a joke. It is what it is but it's totally obvious the nfl ( roger ) wanted crybaby ray to end with a ring.

I actually thought it was one of the worst in recent memories until the lights went out. After the power came back on SF got into a rhythm and made a game of it, but I think if no power outage, SF never even gets close.

Flacco played like a top 5 QB tonight and for a half looked like the best super bowl QB I have ever seen.

If Baltimore recieves to start the game, we may be talking about the 49ers winning tonight.
agree on Flacco, But why would we be talking about a SF win if Baltimore recieved? I don't understand that comment.

These teams hated each other. So many post play fights.

So glad Ed Reed, Suggs, Ngata, Boldin, Rice, Leach, Birk all got their much deserved rings (add Flacco, Jacoby, and Torrey to that now)
agreed

like donofriso said keep in mind how this team is built. Smart underrated FA signings. We've been doing that for the most part of late, but just for some of you fans that want us to go out and get a big name, these guys aren't Big names.

And once again the Redskins have beaten the super bowl champion and for the past 7 straight years we've played the eventual super bowl champ in the regular season.
Ravens have lived off an old defense, that is a matter of keeping their own. I don't think they would not address a need in FA if one fit, big name or not, the key is building the whole team from player #1 to player #53, they have done a good job on that.

Re: Ravens v. Niners Super Bowl Thread

I thought that the last no-call was a good one. Both players were guilty and either could have been flagged. It would have sucked if the Super Bowl had been decided by arbitrarily pointing the finger at one of those guys. It was a good time to let 'em play.

They were letting it go all game for both sides, would have been totally unfair to flag it at the end like that.

On the other hand look at this view, and tell me why the Ref didn't call a personal foul. Its clear Reed puts his helmet right on Crabtree's before he is a runner.

I seem to remember early in the game the 49ers got called for one that directly led to a Baltimore TD.

I just think there was a bunch of bad, uneven officiating in this game. Even when they were getting chippy, I know I saw one player take at shot at an opponents helmet with a ref looking right at him. Sometimes reminded me of the St Louis game in how the refs handled it.

Re: Ravens v. Niners Super Bowl Thread

It's kinda a shame that we started the season talking about the refs and the lockout, now the last game has some questionable calls to (both ways for sure, but that doesn't make it right).

I hope that whatever system they have put in place for grading and evaluation, next season sees better quality ref'ing all the way around.
