| CB I'd take out Henderson and put in Paul but other than that I agree.

| Re: Predict the 2013 53 Man Opening Day Roster My thought on the TE situation is that if the Redskins were going to give up on Niles Paul, he wouldn't have made it through last year, when he was just taking up space on a playoff roster. He'll stay one more year. Although changing ST coaches from Smith to Burns probably hurts him. Keeping 4 TEs kind of hamstrings the roster composition of this team, as so much as you can hurt the roster composition keeping a versatile player (not much). I think they are going to give Haslett his full 25 spots, so the extra spot has to come out of somewhere, either WR or OL. The top four receivers from last year will stay, and I think Robinson makes it over Henderson because they run similar routes, but Robinson can get behind the defense allowing Griffin to out throw him. I have a feeling that they'll make a spot for Stallworth as the sixth receiver, but if I had to make the prediction today, he'd be on the outside looking in. As soon as a guy (at any position) goes down, they'll swing it so Stallworth makes the team. That leaves nine spots for the OL, which is really more than the Redskins need (and more spots than they'll finish the season with), but I think they'll cut down to just nine for Week 1 so that they can keep Compton without having to start him. That, and I think that Gettis and LeRibeus are on scholarship for one more season. Polumbus should beat out Hurt as the swingman, which means it's Hurt vs. Pashos for the roster spot at RT. This post is already a disaster to follow (I'm rusty) so I'll just continue with the defense. If you've gotten this far, bless your soul. No idea what is going to happen with the defensive line. Starters are obvious. There's typically no reason to roster 3 NT's, but they have to because they don't have enough depth at DE to play in the sub packages. So I think they'll keep Neild and Baker, as both can get after the passer better than some of our ends. I don't think Golston is a lock, but if Carriker gets waived or IR'ed, he's on for sure. I think they'd be willing to keep just six defensive lineman, but again, not if Carriker is one of them, just too much uncertainty there. Brace or Merling will have to stand out, because I could see that spot going to a UDFA or training camp signing. I'm betting on Merling right now, but do see him getting jumped by someone before the final cutdowns. Rostering 6 DL means 9 or 10 LBs, which is a better use of your roster space. Fletcher, Riley, Orakpo, Kerrigan, Jackson, Robinson are locks. Jenkins will make it. I think there are plans to get 3 OLBs in the field in sub packages, which means that they'll need 4 to 5 active OLBs every week (good for Darryl Tapp). They can skimp on the inside if they want to open the season with just 3 ILBs, but they'll be going through a majority of the season with four, which is probably good for Vic So'oto or Bryan Kehl (I think So'oto is better). I'd really like Rodrick Muckelroy and for all the talk about Minnifield's health -- or lack thereof -- Muckelroy is a higher upside talent who just doesn't seem to have the ability to stay on the field for more than a month at a time. They kept 10 DBs last year, but will probably cut down to 9 this year. Wilson, Crawford, Hall, Amerson, Biggers at corner, and Meriweather, Doughty, Thomas, Rambo at safety. Recent comments by Haslett would lead one to think that they probably aren't satisfied with two rookies and two vets at safety, so while I think they'll just play a corner like Biggers or Wilson there early in the season to save a roster spot, it wouldn't be the craziest thing if Gomes or Pugh made the Week 1 roster to prevent having to have two rookies in the lineup early in the season. Forbath, Rocca, and Sundberg are basically without competition at this point. Rocca's net average dropped a lot last season, so if he shanks any in the preseason, I could see them being in competition. But Forbath and Sundberg are locks, at least for Week 1.

I also remember his name being mentioned a lot when I would watch the occasional TCU game (Baylor, Boise St., Wisconsin to name a few).

| Re: Predict the 2013 53 Man Opening Day Roster So right now after hearing about Training Camp Reports and Watching 1 preseason game heres what I see. LOCKS (Baring Injury): QB 2- RG3, Cousins RB 3- Morris, Helu, Young (FB) TE 4- Davis, Reed, Paulsen, Paul WR 5- Garcon, Morgan, Moss, Hankerson, Robinson OL 6- Williams, Compton, Lichtensteiger, Montgomery, Chester, Polumbus, Total= 20 DL 6- Cofield, Bowen, Jenkins, Golston, Baker, Neild LB 6- Fletcher, Riley, Kerrigan, Orakpo, Rob Jackson, Brandon Jenkins, CB 3- Hall, Amerson, Crawford, S 4- Doughty, Rambo, Meriweather, Thomas Total= 19 ST 3- Forbath, Rocca, Sundberg Total = 3 Overall Total LOCKS= 42. That includes 2 guys that will be suspended the first 4 games, which means that we could carry and extra 2 guys in their place for the first four weeks. So this number essentially could be 40 with an extra 2 guys we could keep the first 4 weeks then cut come week 5. 11 Roster Spots that are completely up for grabs (or 13 if we don't count Jarvis Jenkins and Rob Jackson) Near Locks- Guys that I should have counted before, but theres always that small chance they don't make it in favor of a younger guy and/or clearly better player. Or guys that we spent too high of either a draft pick or pay on that we shouldn't cut based on that. OL 2- LeRibeus, Pashos LB 2- Kehl, Barnett CB 2- Biggers, Minnifield Total = 6 Now we're at 48 guys (including the suspended guys). That leaves 5 roster spots. Now heres the On the Bubble Guys: QB: Grossman RB: Royster, Jamison, Thompson FB: Kettani WR: Stallworth, Briscoe, Lewis, Henderson, Dawson, Nick Williams OL: Gettis, Hurt, LB: Daryl Tapp CB: Josh Wilson S: Jordan Pugh, DeJon Gomes We're definitely keeping another RB, so I'm going with Thompson if he's healthy, Royster if Thompson isn't healthy. We're going to keep another OL, and I'm not sold on LeRibeus being the answer. I say Mo Hurt makes it since he can play more than one position. Daryl Tapp is a vet, played 4-3 DE and is looking decent as a 3-4 OLB, he has the veteran edge over impressive rookie Brandon Jenkins. And as of now, Tapp can play the first four games, baring some drug suspension. He also knows the NFC East well. I think another spot goes to him. Jordan Pugh was on our roster last year, and is another safety back there. He's more of a SS than FS, but if Rambo got hurt, he could sub in there. I think 4 safeties on a team with a poor pass defense the year before is very risky. Add in the fact that Thomas has already gotten injured 10 minutes into his first preseason game, and I think its almost a lock to carry 5 safeties. Can we go in with only 5 WR's? Yeah, but its risky. Then again, who is playing special teams of those WRs? I know Moss, Garcon and Morgan are definitely not covering Kicks and Punts. Hankerson and Robinson, I'm pretty sure don't cover kicks or punts either. There was an article that said that Stallworth could help on special teams. Add that in with his veteran experience and the fact that one of our NFC E rivals may add him, and use him (Eagles come immediately to mind) and I could really see him making the team. Everyone is probably thinking why isn't Josh Wilson a lock to make the roster. Well if you saw A) how well Amerson looked against a bigger more physical WR than what Josh Wilson went against last year and faring much better than what Wilson has against other WRs. B) how much money Wilson is costing us ($2 million) compared to a guy like Amerson ($700,000), Biggers ($1.5), Crawford ($500,000) or Minnifield ($405,000) C) We don't plan on having him back next year, so why not let him get a head start somewhere else, as opposed to waste time with us here where he'll probably be behind Amerson and maybe even Biggers. D) He has (good) trade value, because he's still young and is an NFL starter. So back to that 5th and final spot. Grossman, he knows the offense well, but he isn't helping himself with having a bad preseason and hoping for a job else where. Its here or no where. I'll get back to Grossman in a second. Now there are 3 people we can consider here. A young WR (Nick Williams or Skye Dawson), Donte Stallworth and Eric Kettani. Kettani intrigues me in a since of the respect that Shanahan has for him. He could be a guy that makes it for his versatility of being a FB/RB/ and possible H-Back as well as Special Teamer. There was an article a while back where Shanahan said that Eric has a real good shot at making this roster; something to think about. All the Veterans have been hyping up Skye Dawson. The problem is that he hasn't been showing up come 11 on 11 time, just 1 on 1 time. The flip side is Nick Williams, a guy I saw the other night whom I think is a young Welker/Amendola slot, shifty, fast WR with good return ability. But he looks like a project at this point. I think one of those guy's definitely makes the Practice Squad. So between I think Stallworth is your final 5th guy who sneaks onto the roster. I think that Grossman and Kettani make the 53 as well, but are in consideration along with Daryl Tapp, to be cut by week 5.

| Re: Predict the 2013 53 Man Opening Day Roster i'm not sure 4 TEs are a lock. that's just a lot of bodies at TE. no way we keep two FBs on the 53 man either. i think kimbrough might have a shot with robinson's injury at least the PS.

| Re: Predict the 2013 53 Man Opening Day Roster I don't think Wilson is a bubble guy. I think he's earned his spot over the years (somehow) unless someone else steps up and makes him look like a warm body. Unfortunately, I'm not yet convinced that Biggers is consistently better than Wilson. Note: Not that Biggers would get cut (obviously) but that Biggers would push Wilson onto the bubble. I see the CB Lineup as being something like Hall Amerson Biggers Wilson Crawford/Minnifield worked into there somehow. My personal feeling on it is we have a ton of young guys and I wish they'd kick Wilson to the curb now and let Crawford and Minnifield step up in dime packages this year. Kick Hall to the curb and let Amerson be #1 next year.

As for 4 TE's not being a lock; Davis is a lock because he is listed a#1, is on a 1 year deal, and knows our system the best. Jordan Reed is a lock because he was a 3rd round draft pick and has booming potential; Logan Paulsen is a lock for his blocking, what he did last year, his experience and his special teams value. Niles Paul is a lock (not as much a lock as the other 3 but still a lock) because he is cheap, young, has potential, is doing good in camp and preseason, is literally the offensive version of Lorenzo Alexander (ie not great at his particular position on defense, but ok/decent and is great at special teams) now that Lorenzo is gone to Arizona, Niles could be that new Special Teamer for us. Plus he can play TE/H-Back/WR/KR more than a lot of other guys on the team, and Shanahan loves versatility.

| Re: Predict the 2013 53 Man Opening Day Roster paul as a WR/H-back/non blocker is a joke. 10 catches for 177 yards in 2 years... not good. I think we keep davis as lock, and we're not going to PS a 3rd round pick, so he's safe. the other guys... I mean, we could keep both, but i don't think it's a lock, that's all. the good news is there's only about 5-6 spots to talk about.
