| Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach KI- that is a damaging article about shanahan. How do we want Snyder to not mettle in affairs, when shanasatan is statistically the worst coach ever? No coach under Snyder has served their full contract. We go all in and give executive powers to 'satan and he hires his son who train wrecks with Rex, McNabb, beck, and Robert knee, and hires Haslett changing the defense and makes us the worst defense in history. The writing is on the wall. Should have traded 3 1st to include Fisher. This team is Chernobyl. It is forever Quarantined from priducing anything of value again |

| Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach Yep, Shanahan's great defenses. That was my main knock on him before the Redskins hired him and you can see he picked the wrong DC and nothing has changed or won't.

Unfortunately, Haslett just hasn't gotten it done. Sure, back-end talent has been an issue but, sorry, the D hasn't executed and has schemed well. I hope going forward, we get a creative D coord who find ways to stop the medium and big gains and who gets his D off the field -- other than by allowing the other team to score. I am grateful to Shanny for exorcising the ghost of Vinny, for working through the draft, for not giving up on younger players and creating the idea that "fairness/performance" govern who plays. (Although, recently, it seems this last has been given less emphassis). Barring a 180 degree turnaround by the D and parts of the O, it is time to say good bye to Shanny before all the good he has done is undone by a descent into losing and defeatism.

2010 for example, we needed someone to replace Chris Samuels. We took Trent (as well as 5 other offensive players) and he’s working out well. He’s not having a pro-bowl year by any stretch, but then none of the team is. Bottom line, we needed a franchise blind-side protector and the pick therefore made sense. 2011 though, and they turned their attention to the D. Priority seemed to be on improving the pass rush and so Kerrigan was taken in the 1st, Jenkins in the 2nd. Now, don’t get me wrong, I like Ryan. I think he’s a solid player who could look even better if he had an elite rusher on the other side, but the point I’m making is in a 3-4, it all starts with the guy in the middle of the 3, and everything else comes next. In other words, we should have been looking towards the best NT available, the build around that vital cog. Phil Taylor for example shot up draft boards that year and was picked later in the first round. But instead we seem to make attempts at solving problems (I won’t discredit the effort btw, especially considering the draft is always reliant on chance as much as doing your homework), but it’s almost done in a hit and hope manner (definitely more on the defensive side of the ball) as much as anything and typifies why we haven’t made enough sustained progress in the 4 years of the transition to a 3-4 scheme as we maybe should IMO.

| Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach I posted my vote for Lovie Smith although I know it's a long shot. I think he'd be a great coach to develop the defense and he's low drama as well. Offensively, as someone said earlier, we've got the pieces in place to be dynamic so we don't need a mastermind on that side of the ball. I'd prefer someone whose philosophy is similar to the scheme Shanahan built the team around so there wouldn't have to be dramatic turnover on that side of the ball. Ray Horton, Sean McDermott John Pagano and Perry Fewell are also on my radar because I want the next coach to be defensive minded. If we go offensive minded, I like Ken Wisenhunt.

| Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach Not surprised Shanahan is in the lead here. Similar poll is on Extremeskins, and he's winning there too. I applaud you Warpath.
