Re: Taylor Officially Charged

The real question is how much of a distraction will this be to the Redskins. Court date the day after the season opener as well.

Re: Taylor Officially Charged

Outstanding! So much for the charges being dropped. So does this mean he is going to be done for the year?

Re: Taylor Officially Charged

Sounds like he's ok for this season

Quote:
Taylor is still expected to be present for the first day of training camp, July 31, at Redskins Park. Because of continuances -- adjournments of a court case to a future dates for various reasons -- Taylor's trial is likely to be postponed until after the 2005 NFL season, which ends in January.

Re: Taylor Officially Charged

It sounds like he's good for this season but he could be gone for three years. My question is if he does have to serve the three years or more how will his salery effect our salery cap. I would think we have a clause in his contract for these matters. Can anyone shed light on the matter? What a wast!

For a first offense I think he'll be able to avoid doing time... but then again I know nothing about the legal system!

According to espn.com the charge carries a 3 year minimum sentence, so we'll see what happens.

That's correct. If convicted of the aggrevated assault charge, there is nothing he can do to avoid the mandatory 3 years. About the only thing this being his first time offense will do is keep it at 3 years instead of more than 3 years.

Fortunately the 2005 season should be unaffected. If they can postpone the trial that long, and if the defense can start to find weaknesses in the prosecution's case, there is a decent shot the prosecutor will take a plea to a lesser offense. They will certainly have a long enough time to bargain over a plea agreement.

As for MC's second ":vomit-smi".......what the heck were you thinking having a bachelor party on a Thursday night?

Re: Taylor Officially Charged

A three year minimum sentence if you're not a celebrity. Then it's reduced down to a fine and community service.

Re: Taylor Officially Charged

I kinda think he's going to get off. It seems like the defense may have some opportunities to poke some holes in the police evidence.

I'm sure they wouldnt do that. However I dont think he will be convicted because of that very reason you stated. However I dont think there is any reducing this sentence. He's either guilty or not guilty. However I'm sure the fact that he's a celebrity is not going to hurt him in the slightest.

I DIDN'T have it. I got a call about 2 AM on Wed/Thurs morning and a drunken voice was like, "Yo man, I'm back in town and getting married." It was a friend who went into the army and I hadn't heard from in about 2 years. So he decided to have his party last night because pretty much all the people he hangs out with are wastes of life that either don't have jobs or don't care if they make it.

So we proceeded to frequent Roanoke and get ALL kinds of trashed.

And now here I sit at work on two hours of sleep.:vomit-smi
