Re: How should we remember Gardner's time as a Redskin?

I hope Moss gets 1200 yards. he definately has the talent.
I hope Jacobs turns into a solid 700-1000 yard WR. he also has the the talent

but, i think Gardner will put up better stats than the guys on our team.
gardners going to a better system with a good WR on the other side of the field. rod always did a good job of beating defenders. if he can stay in the same system for a while, he will develop into what we thought he was going to be.

i wish him the best. he is a good guy.

i dont think he ever really missed practices or games, and i don't remember him shunning the media (though he's never been a postgame centerpiece)... i wish his hands weren't so horrible, but i really rather have a WR corp that doesn't drop balls, even if they're slightly less talented.

does anyone know what round pick we got? 4th? 5th? is it contingent on him signing an extension? has his agent decided to drop the no new contract stuff?

We got a conditional 6th round pick according to the Washington Post. Rod made amazing plays and frustrating plays so I'll agree with the 50-50 rating of his time here in DC.

I'm just going to say that I want to remember the easy catches he made look tough. At least those were good for the highlight reel.

Re: How should we remember Gardner's time as a Redskin?

The parties he threw were hot, his SUV getting jacked was classic, but more than anything, 50/50 will always hold a special place in my heart and he'll always be remembered fondly whenever a well placed ball bounces off the hands of a wide open wide receiver.

Long live fity-fity!

Not to go off-topic here but isn't it kind of sad that Bruce Smith's greatest contribution to the Redskins was coming up with the nickname 50/50?

Re: How should we remember Gardner's time as a Redskin?

a couple of good games doesn't make up for so many more that he disappeared, or dropped catchable balls.his time here was long over due to be terminated.i don't wish him harm, but he didn't fulfill his obligation here in any shape or form. let him go,he was only going to continue to disappoint us(me) anyway's hopefully he will remember to make sure that it's a valet he's giving his key too soo long to the hot potato

Re: How should we remember Gardner's time as a Redskin?

Ernest Byner had a long and storied career, but will (unfairly) be remembered for "The Fumble".

Joe Theismann was a Super Bowl winning QB, but will largely be remembered for "The Break".

Rod Gardner? So many miscues, so many drops, which one to choose...

Re: How should we remember Gardner's time as a Redskin?

I'll remember Gardner for how inconsistent his effort was. When he wanted to play, he was one of the best receivers we've had here in a while. When he didn't want to play, he was horrible. Talented and inconsistent. I'm a bit sad to see him go, but he certainly isn't a Joe Gibbs guy.

Re: How should we remember Gardner's time as a Redskin?

I never thought it was a question of effort, it seemed more of a "he'll just never be that good."
