Moss and Gibbs Modify Play

This is a good article about how Moss went to Gibbs at some point in the game and said that Williams and Glen had bitten real hard on his cut. So they just added a deep dash to the play. Thats sounds like the Gibbs of old coming up with a play to win a game.

I think under the first Gibbs era the thing he was known around the league for was his 1/2 time adjustments.

I always thought it ironic the guy would stay up all week devising the game plan for essentially the first 1/2, then in 12 minutes redo every thing for the 2nd half and more often than not (ohh, about 70% of the time), kick their butts.

Not only did he figure it out, but he also managed to teach it to the team in those 12 minutes.

This article just shows the strides that Coach Gibbs himself has made just in the past year. I distinctly remember that one of Coles' beefs was that the coaches didn't listen to his suggestions on the sidelines. Well it sounds like Gibbs is listening to his wideouts these days, and while I don't want the inmates running the asylum I do think the players should be able to say what they think might work especially considering how awful our offense was up to that point.

Speaking of lavar he has been mighty quite this year with one start and only two tackles. Has anyone heard anything on him and is he just not up to game speed yet.

two tackles isnt bad considering he only plays like 3 plays a game. He probably is up to game speed they are just claiming that they are working him slow so he doesnt get reinjured. Which is bs. the defense is working without him, but ya gotta put him in more often.

It is really good to hear that Gibbs is coming along in his 21st century NFL schooling. Most of the people on this site had few doubts that he would.

His adjustments were legendary in the past. Parcells has been quoted saying Gibbs is the best second half coach b/c of his ability to make in game analyses. I think again we saw him do it.

or even after the 1st quarter in the SB when they turned around a 10-0 deficit and dropped 35 nasty ones on denver in the 2nd QUARTER. never looked back.

The weird thing about this was, our half-time adjustment wasn't much better, but our 2-minute adjustment was rock solid! LOL!!!!

Brunnel and Moss really found something and Gibbs had the nads to call the play. It was miraculous.

But, for those of you out there who think they just saw a great second half adjustment let me tell you something: The best is yet to come.

What we watched in the last 5 minutes of that Dallas game was standard fair in the entire second half of almost every game I watched Gibbs coach going into the early 90's. That's the legend. The guy studies so hard that he knows every strength and weakness the other team has. Once he sees thier game day scheme, he adjusts his to beat thiers better than anyone in the history of the game.

I am a skins far today because I grew up knowing that no matter what happened in the first half, Gibbs could take over in the second. That makes for very exciting Sundays.
