Quarterback hits (a/k/a "Slobberknocking, Part Deux") Did anyone notice that, on at least two of Fitzpatrick's runs, the defense let up as he dove forward for extra yardage? As long as the QB doesn't slide feet first, he's fair game, right? Is it professional courtesy that you don't slobberknock (thank you Sammy Baugh Fan!) the QB in the open field? I don't think so, but I can't figure out why our D just put a hand on him and didn't try to get a hit. I am not suggesting trying to hurt the kid, but if he takes a shot one time, he will think twice about running the next time.

Re: Quarterback hits (a/k/a "Slobberknocking, Part Deux") Nice hit - but that definitely wasn't on a run. My point was that when Fitz took off, the Skins started playing flag football.

Re: Quarterback hits (a/k/a "Slobberknocking, Part Deux") I think it was smart play he got down pretty quick and the way they protect th QB's why take a chance on a fifteen yarder. Now if he was on his feet and we did not give him a good hit I would be upset.

| Re: Quarterback hits (a/k/a "Slobberknocking, Part Deux") To quote Sam Huff "You gotta take that hit on a QB when you get it" As to why we let him off I don't know but we let him off the hook a couple/few times. Take the Hit, Take the Chance, Make it clean, and I'll take the yards if flagged

Re: Quarterback hits (a/k/a "Slobberknocking, Part Deux") i liked it when Pierson Prioleau sacked him and all you see is fitzpatricks hand at the bottom of the pile letting go of the football.
