Re: Redskins Pre Draft Workouts/Meetings/Visits Thread

Definitely gotta put our #1 need at the safety position, and their are several good prospects in this draft. Hard to get super excited about a draft where your first pick is in the 50's but if we get 1 or 2 quality guys, and 1 or 2 back ups, that would be a terrific draft this year.

Let me put this out there as another possible praise of the FO. Good FO's don't just look at this year's draft, they look at future drafts (1 2 or 3 years out) and kind of match up needs/projected needs and draft classes. I don't think that last year when our need (as it had been for a decade) was clearly qb (our cupboard was bare) the draft was a particularly rich qb draft. This year, our safety cupboard is bare, and it is a very deep safety/cb draft.

Basically it seems like they let lesser talent (Beck, Williams) sink or swim in a year prior to a flush class, to see if the lesser talent can step up. I may be looking backwards and seeing it in a glass half full manner, but I think in terms of rebuilding, our FO has done a great job of managing talent, and draft positional availability.
